“Youse can’t just stomps in these skate shoes, your ankles will breaks, Pickle!” Toki lectured.
Pickles rolled his eyes. “I know how ta roller skate, okay? Did it all the time when I was a kid, ya smug dildo. Talk to Nate, he’s the one in danger of bustin’ his head open and dyin ’.”
He entertained the idea of Nathan as the world’s first zombie Metal frontman and shivered.
“No, no no!” Toki shouted, and rolled effortlessly over to Nathan, who’d taken a seat on the floor and was staring intently at an ASOS catalogue Abigail had forgotten. “You ALL saids you woulds try, you promised!” Toki’s voice teetered in the edge of tears, and Nathan sighed.
“I uh… I did try, but when Murderface knocked me down… I think I have a concussion,” he said matter-of factly, pushing back his hair to reveal a small red mark on his forehead.
Toki glared and moved his gaze to Skwisgaar. He was sitting too, looking regally bored as he filed his nails and swiped through GILFmatch on his phone.
Murderface was still skating, if you could call it that, but he was more interested in launching himself into the wall than improving his form.
Toki shook his head, brow furrowed. “NO!” He shouted, and the room fell silent.
“Juscht chill,” Murderface rolled his eyes, and Toki shot him a glare.
“That doctors saids We needs to tries new things!” His voice had lost its whine, settling into exasperation. “We needs to BONDS, or else whats will we do, huh? I don’t wants to breaks up….” He pressed his hand against his forehead and shook his head.
Skwisgaar raised an eyebrow. “Whomst ams saying anythings about that?”
Toki looked down at his feet and shrugged, a blush creeping from his cheeks all the way down to his bare belly. “I don’ts know… everyone has beens actings so weirds since we cames down here.”
Pickles snorted. “Everyone’s mad ‘cause we aren’t jackin’ off, dude, that’s all. Things will go back ta normal soon, I promise.” Nathan grunted in agreement, ans Toki looked around the room at the others, feeling the knot in his stomach ease up as he saw each of them nod.
“Hm…. will youse still skates with me for a little while? It’s real cool when you learns to goes fast!” He brightened when Skwisgaar put down his phone and stood on wobbly legs, trying to keep his skates from sliding out from under him. “Fines,” skwisgaar mumbled.
Nathan put the catalogue down and clung fast to Pickles, whose muscle memory had kicked in and reminded his feet that he was a decent skater, if not a graceful one.
Toki was practically beaming. “I cans teach you reals cool tricks too!”
There were worse ways to kill an afternoon.
