Jerred Murphy is a homegrown, “Oklahomie,” who studied Percussion at Oklahoma City University under Dr. David Steffens. Jerred has experience as an instructor as well as a performer having been a drum line instructor at Midwest City, Edmond Memorial and Yukon High School and currently teaches private lessons. He also has experience as a musical theater percussionist, having worked with various companies and theaters including: Sooner Theatre, Cimarron Opera, Jewel Box Theater, Kids Alive and even played at the Civic Center for a Christmas themed show entitled, “ The Amazing Tale of Mary and Joseph.” He is a skilled carpenter, cat enthusiast and enjoys long walks on the beach and returning various seashells to their natural environment(s) after repairing them with different types of glues and sticky tapes. He can be summoned at almost any time by standing in front of a bathroom mirror (with the lights off) and saying his full name somewhere between 3 and 33 times. He’s happy to be performing for you today and wants you to know that he left his insurance agent’s card underneath your driver’s side windshield wiper, because he may have smashed into your Corolla.
