Shoot 3

Testing different location and place to what work in this shoot I liked the fact I could capture the city in movement and used a lot of different techniques to see what work best . Ultimately I realised  I wanted to focus on portraiture 

Brassaï :Gyula Halász

 The image of Brassaï :Gyula Halász shows the artist capturing the city in movement but at the time it could also be read as once the sleeping city goes to sleep and every one is in  their home resting . The idea of using the bridge as a focal point to look into the city adds dimension and depth  feeling like the person is experiencing same image as if it was a real life moment

Saul Leiter

  Saul Leiter image which gives image of a frame within a frame  in an interesting way t o look at the image because this gives the viewer an opportunity to experience the image of blocks of colour but still giving the sense of everyday life with the car moving  and the hand leaning on the seat

Lee Friedlander

 Lee Friedlander which scene which it looks like near long green fields gives the feeling of this memory or data  which is forgotten which we don’t often stop look in the hustle  of life taking a minute to admire which appears from nature every week or every months when the rain it’s the ground to form this collection of water .

Man Ray

 Looking at Man Rays work feels like looking at the work through a glass ball that you can shake. But also the setting of having this stately home  with the greenery is something that drawing the eye of the viewer into the image .

Manuel Álvarez Bravo

 Manuel Álvarez Bravo is an example of how he brings nature and the inside of a building together creating this ideal utopia of both world intertwined into one another. Looking at this body of work makes the person reading at ease in place which feels peaceful and in harmony forgetting about all problem of the outside world .

Chris McCaw

The work of Chris McCaw of his images of shot  as result of burn film  create this scene of a river  and greenery around  it. The images at the same make it hard to make out what images of exactly because its not offering much clarity but keeping the viewer in a state of ambiguity as if its looking through a lens or a pair binoculars

Paul Rousteau

 In Paul Rousteau the use of colour is one the key elements that stand out in the images but also this blur of the leaf’s feeling like they are in movement. The idea of the artist using the blur to create the dream like affect which feel like the viewer is walking through a mist into garden full of blooming flowers

Salvador Dali

 In the painting seen by Salvador Dali it is how he plays with reflection and the way the artist uses the urban city to incorporate nature and the city. The scene in the  painting with the swans and the dried up branches make that particular scene feel like it could be somewhere in the country side when you focus on that particular element of the painting. But overall the works use of colour and having this idea of being in unreal place is what makes the  work important .

Georgia O'Keeffe

 Georgia O'Keeffe in this body of work play with reflections but also showing the body of work as abstract colour. But at the same time gives the viewer a deeper reading through showing the greenery which resemble mountains still giving the painting a sense of nature.

Susan Derges

Looking at Susan Derge’s work has given me as an artist an understanding of the work with the way the colouring is used in the my  work that was in shot Cyprus with the way there is bright clouds in the images and  in the clarity.  The way also the image creates this kind of illusion of a surreal feeling when the cloud are becoming a bit more clearer.

Images were shot by the sea in cyprus both experimenting with photos and videos to see if both would compliment each other . The idea was to give the prject a mythical feeling and make it surreal but yet still playing with reflection but creating a scenario . The project over worked well and had a good characters to work with . Creating this idea where goddesses is coming out the sea adds more depth to the video and drawing the viewer in.There was also a roll of film that was experimented with

Experimenting with different setting and giving the project a different feel . The project is trying to take the approach of a heavenly feeling  making it feel surreal in some senses . Testing a bucket also to get reflections worked and elevated the work and gave it more clarity making the work mature

The work in the second shoot is more focused and work cohesively which draws the viewer into the work . Elements which will be improved is lighting, shooting in 35mm film to see how the work will look in different textures. Trying to capture more people in the work to give it subjectivity. 

The first body of work was testing to see what would and what wouldn't . The work is about capturing data which is on the ground created from rain water which we don't often realise and we take for granted . Area that will be improved is focusing more on subjectivity and challenging the idea of how reflection can be re contextualised in how we see and perceive water . The essence of the work is that it is an organic working method and it has meditative element which will capture the viewer
