A scan taken of a healthy adult itan, a costal tribe. The ? symbolizes what natives describe as a connection to those have left and those who will come. The tribe knows very little of clinical medicine, mostly tribal remedies. Very low mortality rate.
The woman this was taken of is Ka’maliy. She was the the second itan to meet humans, and became very aggressive. While she was sedated, this was taken. Today she , among others, are still wary of humans.

A young eastern flatland boy gets caught in the rain, Vanuatu’s rain is often as heavy as Earths monsoons. Children come out to fill leather leaves with rain water, which is revered as sacred. When in worship, only rainwater is an acceptable offering.

In the southern jungle region, many tribes fly bats. They wear earthy skin tones to blend into the trees and bat, the exceptions being the red coloring made from clay and dried flowers, and their gold jewelry. Warriors use this clay to make their ears appear pointed.
This girl sits upon her bat listening to her mother gossip, she’s finished her chores. She is young so she does not own much jewelry to wear. The red handkerchief on her leg signifies she is still a child.
