Want To Know If He or She’s The One? Take Them On A Weekend Date In Manila
Manila, Philippines – Did you know that aside from shopping and sightseeing, Manila is a great place to know if your current partner is for keeps? So you’ve been dating for quite some time and you’re thinking about kicking things up to the next level, but you really want to make sure. There’s a sure-fire way to know if they are worth it.
Bill Murray once famously said: “If you have someone who you think is The One, take that person and travel around the world. Go to places that are hard to go to and hard to get out of. And if when you come back to JFK, when you land in JFK, and you’re still in love with that person, get married at the airport.”
Manila, even with all its historical significance and undeniable charm, is not a walk in the park. Fortunately, with these tips on the things to do in Manila you can enjoy a weekend date with your partner while evaluating if he or she could be The One:
1.Food adventures in Binondo
You and your partner should enjoy the same things like eating together. Do they have allergies? Do they chew with their mouth open? Would they share their food? Would they yell at you when they are starving? You need to know these things. You’ll never run out of restaurants and holes-in-the wall to explore here in Binondo. All you need is time, patience, and a large appetite.
2. Art appreciation at National Museum
Aside from talking about how their day went and the latest on that TV show you both like, do they appreciate art and other fine things? Do they think its boring? Can they take cool photos for your IG? These are important things! Check out the National Museum’s social media pages for the latest exhibitions and gallery hours.
3. History lesson in Luneta, Intramuros
The climate in Manila could only be just two things: hot and sticky or dripping wet. Watch them react to the smoke and traffic while strolling along the city’s most famous and historical landmarks. Do they pay attention? Are they easily annoyed? Do they complain much? These are just some things to ponder.
4. Party along Escolta
In the daytime, Escolta is a busy strip with interesting shops and old buildings. At night, it turns into a hip block party where you can buy stuff from local artisans, eat gourmet street food, and drink cheap booze while dancing in the street. Will your partner enjoy the environment?  Or would they be a party pooper and ask to just go back to your hotel? Will they check out other people when they think you’re not looking? There’s only one way to find out and this is the right place to do it.
5. Let Manila Bay do its magic
If after all of the things you went through on this trip, you still like them and they still like you then lucky for you both. Sit in silence along Manila Bay and enjoy the sunset and the breeze with your partner-in-crime. Good luck!

5 Things to Do in Bacolod
I have been to Bacolod. Around 10 years ago, in 2009, Bacolod was one of the first places (if not the first) I’ve visited which required me to ride an airplane. I clearly remembered my excitement when I was planning for the trip. My companion then, who was based overseas, had duly tasked me to organize our trip and itinerary, including where to stay in Bacolod.
I can only vaguely remember the things we did then. I remembered staying in a mountain resort, visiting a butterfly sanctuary, and exploring most parts of the developing city. I remember visiting a bakery that was recommended to us by a friend, and also trying out a popular restaurant. Of course, when it comes to food, we didn’t miss out on trying out an authentic version of the famous chicken inasal, which is said to have originated in Bacolod.
Fast forward to the present, I am now more experienced when it comes to traveling. Having explored different parts of the country, I am now more enticed to come and visit again and stay in a proper Bacolod hotel.
There seems to be a lot of things now which had already been established as a must-experience and a must-do when traveling to Bacolod. Here are a few of them:
The New Government Center
A newly-constructed government building with a cream hue, it is said the best time to visit is during the night. The façade is adorned with a water fountain and the area is teeming with vendors and various restaurants within the vicinity, which is conducive for some proper food-tripping. It’s also said to be one of the best-looking buildings in the Philippines and the locals enjoy doing plenty of activities around the area, like jogging, biking, or simply just to spend some time hanging around.
San Sebastian Cathedral
Finished in the 18th century, this church is the 2nd one to be built by the Augustinian Recollect order. Located next to the main park by the city center, the magnificent beauty and architecture of this cathedral simply transcend time.
Bantug Lake Ranch
Located a bit outside the city in an uphill area, Bantug Lake Ranch is a scenic place which offers recreational activities such as horseback riding, a swimming pool, fishing, and boating. It’s great for photo-ops and there’s also a restaurant on-site.
Negros Museum
Built in 1925, the Negros Museum is a privately owned, child-friendly museum. It mainly showcases contemporary works of various artists and aims to promote local culture and history.
WHERE TO STAY IN BACOLOD
Another reason to smile when visiting is Acacia Hotel Bacolod, an excellent choice of hotel for staying in the city.
Acacia Hotel Bacolod is a hotel located near the port area which is very accessible for those traveling via the sea, but still very accessible thru the city center. The hotel features 86 rooms with nature-inspired designs and are perfect for either business or leisure travelers. Facilities include 9 meeting or function rooms, a swimming pool, a pool bar and a restaurant onsite.
Acacia Hotel Bacolod is only a few minutes ride away from major malls and tourist spots, such as The Ruins, San Sebastian Cathedral, the New Government Center, and the Negros Museum.

Apo Island And 4 Other Top Snorkeling Sites in the Philippines
From magnificent island destinations like Coron and Samal Island, beach resorts in Boracay, and the picturesque landscapes in Benguet, the Philippines is indeed blessed with a lot of sites and sceneries.
Postcard worthy as they are, most of these mentioned places offer only what’s literally on the surface of our stunning country. But if you try to dive deeper into the depths of our waters, you’ll realize that the Philippines has so much more to offer.
Here are 5 of the best snorkeling spots in the Philippines that are sure to give you a treat of what lies beneath the pristine waters of this archipelago.
APO ISLAND, DUMAGUETE
Being a volcanic island at the Southeastern tip of Negros Oriental, Apo Island is indeed exploding with a diverse marine life. It has become a rather famous attraction in the said province simply because of the fact that it offers so much scenery under its waters. But apart from the rich coral tables that it cradles, Apo Island also allows you to mingle and swim with the most gentle and graceful creatures of the oceans--turtles. A sure hit among children and adults, a snorkeling adventure in Apo Island will surely be an unforgettable one.
SIETE PECADOS, CORON
Recently hailed as Conde Nast’s 3rd Best Island in Asia, Palawan is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Puerto Princesa Subterranean River. But apart from this, it is also where you can find the most amazing beaches and tropical spots. One of its popular destinations, Siete Pecados in Coron holds an abundance of marine life that make you feel as if you were living in the world of “Finding Nemo.” Swim with schools of fish that playfully rush through the turquoise waters and experience the joy of being one with the sea at this amazing snorkeling site.
SANDUGAN MARINE SANCTUARY, SIQUIJOR
Dubbed as the Mystic Island, Siquijor used to have a reputation that branded them of having people practicing the dark arts of voodoo. The stereotype has long faded away but with its numerous snorkeling spots, Siquijor remained a bewitching destination, especially to those who would love to explore beneath the waters. With marine sanctuaries such as Sandugan Marine Sanctuary, you’ll never run out of options to witness lush sea grass and colorful corals that serve as home to a thriving marine biodiversity. You’ll also never have to worry about swimming in its seas because the waters are always fairly calm.
SUNKEN CEMETERY, CAMIGUIN
Journey through the bluest waters of Camiguin and be introduced to a vast underwater life that’s brimming with beauty. Apart from giant clams, colorful fishes, and booming marine life, this island is also home to the famous sunken cemetery. According to the municipality’s history, the sunken cemetery used to be above a normal graveyard but was submerged in water after a series of eruption of Mt. Vulcan. Since then the cemetery has ironically provided life to various marine species converting the graveyard into a one of a kind snorkeling spot.
PEARL FARM BEACH RESORT, DAVAO
An exciting retreat from the busy metropolis of Davao, Samal Island is home to some of the country’s best beaches and snorkeling sites just like Pearl Farm Beach Resort. Originally a place where giant clams are cultured to produce the biggest pearls, this resort now offers a variety of activities including a snorkeling adventure. Get up close with the giant clams and be immersed in its crystal waters. Bear witness to the rich underwater life it presents featuring corals, fishes, colonies of sea urchins, and of course, giant clams. This Samal Island beach resort’s waters also hold a shipwreck that has become a sort of natural marine sanctuary.

Northerners’ Guide to the Very Best of Southern Metro Manila
Muntinlupa, Philippines – For most 90’s kids who lived all their lives in the northern parts of Metro Manila, places like Parañaque, Alabang, and Las Piñas might as well be Planet Mars or The Upside Down—strange and far away lands they didn’t care for. All they saw were a series of tollways and highways they must pass through on their way to Laguna for a school field trip or on that one summer when their  parents took them to a beach in Batangas.
Fast forward to 2018, those northerners are all grown up now and slowly being enlightened about the amazing things found in these locations—thanks mainly to the internet and social media. And with the added convenience of ride-sharing apps and P2P buses, it is easier than ever to explore these realms.
Here are a few examples of the cool spots and stuff you should check down south presented by B Hotel Alabang:
RETAIL THERAPY
Everybody loves buying new stuff. Check out the wholesale stores at Cartimar or the marked down items from popular local brands at Starmall. If you want to splurge on the latest collections, accessories, electronics and more from high-end brands, go to Alabang Town Center. Watch a movie or try the different fast food staples at Festival Supermall—which recently added a man-made river where you can sit and rest your legs after hours of shopping.
FEED YOUR SOUL
You can always eat at the mall, but there are far too many awesome places in the area where you can really satisfy your cravings. Aguirre Avenue is home to various excellent restaurants such as La Chinesca, Ramen Kuroda, Sensei Sushi Bar, Samgyupsalamat, Meat Depot, Picada Tapeo Restaurante, and many more.
Take your pick from these cool spots in BF Homes Parañaque: Tuding’s, Atoy’s Porkchop, Manong’s Filinvest, Ho Chai Lai Restaurant, HEY HO Garage Burgers, Eat Sleep Burgers, Sing Sing Meat Shop, and Taste of Joy.
LIVE ENTERTAINMENT
How about some beverage and live music after dinner? The South has a lot of places where you could watch singers, poets, and bands. 19 East is probably one of the best music venues in the whole country. Countless musicians, from up-and-coming acts to established names and even foreign artists, have performed here. If you’re into heavy stuff there Checkpoint Bar and Quarry are home to hardcore punks and metalheads, respectively. Buku-Buku Cafe and Hugot Cafe, on the other hand, are home to spoken word artists and acoustic performers.
There’s a lot more happenings to attend and places to visit in the South, so don’t leave just yet. How about booking a room at a nearby hotel for good measure? You can find a lot of enticing hotel deals in Alabang online, but none are as great as the ones B Hotel Alabang is offering.  It is the business traveler’s accommodation of choice in the South. Explore the city with this hotel as your base. With high quality service and amenities yet economical rates, B Hotel in Alabang, Muntinlupa, Philippines lets you focus on doing work or having fun while they take care of the rest.
