Plane Crashes in Nepal, Black Boxes Recovered, 3 Missing©
by: Phantom
Search crews on Monday recovered the black boxes from Yeti Airlines NYT 61, the short-haul flight which crashed in Nepal with 72 passengers on board.
According to officials, with almost more than 300 people searching , the flight data record and cockpit voice recorder were recovered, on the site of the crash near Pokhara International Airport.
Although, sadly another body was recovered bringing the death toll of the crash to 69. Unfortunately, three people were still counted as missing on Monday, which lead officials to believe that they didn't expect to find any survivors.
People are saying that the search-and-recovery mission is getting too difficult because most of the wreckage from the downed plane was in a narrow 300-meter-deep gorge.
Officials have said that the crew even had to use oxygen while scouring the site.
Of the 68 passengers on board the twin-engine plane, 15 were Nepali, according to a flight manifest shared by Nepal's Civil Aviation Authority on Sunday. Officials said the remaining passengers were from India, Russia, South Korea, Ireland, Australia, Argentina and France. The plane also had four crew members on board.
The bodies of all 15 foreign nationals were expected to arrive at Kathmandu Airport on Monday, officials said.
