i think the stanford fight involves accusations of cannon fodder and child abuse and leaving us to die as soon as you got a better offer and betraying your mother and i think when john tells sam that if he leaves, he better not come back, sam says he wasn’t fucking planning on it (but he was) and i think john watches from the front porch as sam stomps out into the rain and i think dean follows him and begs him to stay and when he won’t listen he clocks him across the mouth, and sam falls into the muddy water and yells you’re just like him and sprints away until he rounds the curve and then he lets himself start crying, and i think dean steals a car so he can trail sam to the bus stop and make sure he gets there safe without being noticed

it’s a great day to think about how sam repeatedly summoned crossroad demons in male vessels when it was established that they typically possess someone the human will find attractive to aid in sealing the deal
and how sam repeatedly used gender-neutral language to refer to his own dating life in direct contrast with dean always using female pronouns
and how sam never, not once, has said he’s straight, even when facing gay jokes from dean and assumptions about his sexuality from strangers
and don’t even get me started on the amount of queer-coding involved in the narrative of him being an outsider in his own family, of something inside him being not clean, of wanting to run away to college where life will be better, of having a very complicated and very private relationship with his faith—
