dude 100%, jess had such an interesting world that she could’ve done anything she wanted with, and instead she just focused on some stupid romantic subplots with no substance like AHHHH

my inner demons would've easily been the best series on the aphmau channel if the daemos didn't act like children 95% of the time. the potential was THERE. ava was a great protagonist and the entire premise of the show was sooo good but ultimately fell flat due to almost all of the male cast being frustratingly clueless and stupid. it was beyond the point of being comedic and instead just annoying.

teeny tiny addon to last post uhh the insane amount of stupidity between the main 5 daemos is why i love zex so much. the fact that he figured out that you have to put on human clothes to blend in with humans within like, 10 seconds of being on earth, while the main 5 couldnt figure that out themselves until ava made them. zex is so smart he is my favorite creature

also to add on to the criticism a little bit, if the main cast already struggles with the eternal idiot ball, the introduction of zex’s character magnifies their stupidity tenfold. it is frustrating to watch the main 5 struggle So Much with something simple and then to watch zex pick it up immediately…

while its obvious that zex only gets to be smart because hes a villain, and while the intelligence contrast between him and the other daemos strengthens his power as a villain much more, it also just makes it so much more obvious that these characters are being hit with the Stupid Ray

its so terrible how true this is oofff. like yes there was a lot of good reason for the daemos’ cluelessness, of course it was purposeful that a lot of the plot hinged on their lack of familiarity with earth since the whole premise is basically “aliens trying to blend in with humans”

but there were several instances where it was taken too far and the characters were pretty much stripped of any agency and logical thinking they reasonably would’ve had if it wasnt for the fact that the plot needed them to be stupid

like, there are definitely characters whose irrational actions made sense — asch is a royal brat who gets everything handed to him, so of course he would be less inclined to adapt to change and work out conflict because he’s never had to. but then theres other characters like rhys who have been shown to be capable of critical thinking to navigate their environment despite their unfamiliarity with it, yet they still have moments where they’re just. stupid to be stupid.

MID is pretty much just 5 guys tossing around the idiot ball for 26 episodes and it gets TIRING. like yes it can be entertaining to watch them do stupid shit but i also want to watch them be smart!! i want to see my boys use their brains to figure out their way around an unfamiliar situation!!! please!!!!!

sometimes people go out of their way to hate on katelyn a LOT more than needed. yes, there were times where punching travis out of nowhere was an issue, but a majority of the times in the past were because travis was genuinely being a freak. i love travis, but in the past he was a literal creep and deserved to get his shit rocked. i don't understand the massive hate towards katelyn tbh.
