Here is another rug I learned to identify recently. This is a Hatchli Bokhara. One of it's features is that it is divided into quadrants each have the same design. One of the designs we see often is the "y" shape pattern as seen in this picture.

We tried to convince our client that this rug was beyond any restoration. Dog everything in this, then she used hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to clean it. (A big no no) But her story was convincing, and without any promises, we said we would do our best. And to make it worse, we had only four days to wash, sanitize, and colour match this rug before she moves away. We didn't have time to finesse the details, but she now has a rug that looks like...well...a nice Chinese rug. She was very happy and relieved.

We received this email last week. Thought we'd share.
Afternoon Jenny
The rug was done way faster than I imagined possible and turned out the rug looking new rather than wine bathed. Very pleased.
Not much for tech stuff so unable to do the google review but cut and paste my reply if you can.

Here's the first type of rug I learned to identify, it's a Bokhara. One of it's key features are the octagonal guls down the center.

When some dogs get sick...boy do they get sick. This Chinese rug took a beating. Restoration washing is much more intensive than a regular wash, but I know it's now healthy and clean to be put back down in our client's living room again.

Do I ever like coming to our rug plant early in the morning and seeing the temperature and humidity where it is. This is why we can dry all our rugs so fast and thoroughly. No waiting at the beginning of the next day to finish, wrap and deliver.
