I also find it incredibly ironic how New Vegas’s main theme is about letting go of the past, which its supposed biggest fans seem incapable of doing.

Seeing some of the reactions to the new Fallout show gives me the impression that the only way to satisfy Fallout fans would have been to have a whole episode where the cast and crew prostrate themselves in front of a copy of New Vegas while ritualistically sacrificing Todd Howard in the name of their lord and savior Josh Sawyer.

I haven’t even seen the show yet but y’all seriously need to chill and stop making up reasons to be mad.

there is a huge difference between criticizing an institution and criticizing individual behavior. i can criticize the makeup industry without criticizing the 14 year old girl who uses concealer because she’s self-conscious about her acne; i can criticize the plastic surgery industry without vilifying the woman who decided to get a nose job after two decades of pointed comments and bullying. it is intellectually dishonest to respond to an institutional criticism as if it were a personal attack; on the flip side, it is cruel and unnecessary to leverage personal attacks in the name of institutional criticism

if i see one (1) more person respond to a perfectly reasonable beauty-industry-critical sentiment with “but i personally enjoy eyeshadow. why are you attacking people who like eyeshadow :(” or “exactly, all women who wear makeup are miserable and brainwashed” i am going to climb a tree and bite the top of it

I love how Smiling Friends has an episode where it’s literally just four people sitting in an airport having an argument and it just happens to be one of the funniest episodes of the show.

I saw a tweet the other day where someone complained that the Dune movies “don’t explain why Spice is so important.”

They explain why Spice is important in the first 20 minutes of the first movie. It’s literally presented as an educational tool that Paul is listening to that teaches him about Arrakis, so that we as the audience are educated along with him. It’s information that’s impossible to miss if you’re paying even the slightest bit of attention.

I truly believe that some people should just stop watching movies.

Honestly if anything, the micro-transactions in DD2 are crazy disrespectful to the developers. Imagine spending years on this carefully constructed world that rewards you for investing your time, only for your publisher to sell those same rewards up front so players don’t have to actually engage with it the way you want them to. Just a huge slap in the face.
