For some reason, the April Fool's corporate Tumblr names amuse me greatly.
More specifically, making Pax into a limited liability partnership amuses me. "Sure, Ah'll be partners! Jus' know Ah ain't liable fer anythin' that tries t'eat ya. That's what limited liability means!"

"Hey Paxie," the mechanic asked, shying away from the growling, drooling white ball of fur and teeth, "did you train that thing wild or you find a litter somewhere? ... also, can you keep it from chewing on Murray, the dents and scratch marks are murder to repair."
"Aw, Snowy ain't doin' that much damage, is she?" Pax paused, glancing over at the chompacabra. Princess Snowflake Slobbercuddles (the Third) was indeed clearly not doing a great deal of damage... at least by chompacabra standards. After all, Murray was still intact, and no pieces had been swallowed. Perhaps chewing on things was a sign of chompacabra affection.
Still, the spellslinger paused as she took in the growing puddle of drool, and then reached into a bin marked 'Disposable Chew-Toys' to toss what looked like a part from a busted Growler over towards Snowy. "Ah'd say Ah found her, but she kinda found me. She was jus' a little thing, all fluff an' teeth, size'a m' hand. Wandered inta m'camp one night, tried t' beg dinner offa me. Guess she'd gotten orphaned 'r somethin'. Ah ain't th' sort t' shoot a teensy baby chompy, so Ah fed her a bite'a m' dinner."
Shaking the 'chew toy' vigorously and then swallowing it whole, the chompacabra wandered over to sprawl at the spellslinger's feet. Pax knelt down, scratching Snowy on her belly until she flopped over on her side, eyes closed happily and tongue lolling out in a puddle of drool. Glancing up, the explorer added, "After that, she just kinda... stuck around. Followed me th' next day, an' chased off a Chua that tried t' sneak up on me. After that, Ah figured Ah might as well keep her around..."

"Patience, time, an’ not carin’ ‘bout th’ state’a yer furniture," Pax offered. For all that her tone was sympathetic, there was an amused smirk she couldn’t quite wipe from her face. "Fer th’ first bit, it’s gonna literally be house-breakin’, though, ‘cause th’ chompie will break yer house."
With a wave of one hand that trailed a thin line of golden sparkles in the air, the spellslinger added, “An’ bein’ able t’ put ‘em in timeout in th’ Void fer a bit helps; less t’ trash there.”
Gaius: "Wait, ya REALLY got a tamed mouth-with-fur-an'-eyeballs 'angin' round yer place...?"

Funny story, but… this one. Pax was originally a temporary character, just to try out beta; I figured my launch character would be someone different, since usually my beta characters never survive to launch.
The very first day of WildStar’s beta, I logged in to make a character, and since a lot of the customizations weren’t working quite right, I hit ‘random’ a bunch of times to find an interesting baseline. I ended up with this dark-skinned spellslinger with white hair, and thought “Huh. I like that.” I tweaked the appearance somewhat (and kept doing so over the course of beta), but you'll note it's still Pax's defining appearance trait. :)
When I went to finalize the character, I wanted a nice short name for easy beta /tell’s. On voice-chat, my handle of “Packetdancer” is often shortened to “Packs” or “Pax”, and so I just grabbed “Pax” because it was available.
But as I ran around exploring, the character very quickly grew on me. Within a few days I had an idea in my head of what she was like, made “Pax” short for an actual name, and decided to wander over to WSRP and turn her into an actual character.

Pax's tone was dubious. She kicked the downed beast once, then hopped backwards; on this planet, sometimes 'dead' wasn't as permanent as the one doing the killing might light. To her relief, it did not spring back to life and renew the fight.
With a wave of one hand towards the immense carcass, she continued, "Ah mean, clearly th' thing used t'be a jabbit, but Ah ain't seen a jabbit th' size'a a girrok b'fore, much less one that can breathe flamin' acid an' has teeth that bite through rock an' stuff. Not naturally occurrin', anyway. An' it..."
The spellslinger trailed off, then added a touch sheepishly, "Oh. Y'meant th' whole 'tryin' t'eat us cause we walked inta th' cave it was sleepin' in' part, didn't ya?"

Awww, no. :(
I will admit I sometimes feel the same way, both when I first started in the WSRP community and now (again!) as I dust off my characters and try to get back into the swing of things.
The thing is that in my experience, it's usually all in your head. So try not to let it ruin your enjoyment. :)
Do you ever have a roleplayer that you absolutely adore interacting with but you constantly feel like you bother them?? So you see them online and you just kind of wave from the corner like “hello yes please love me” and then retreat into sadness?

"Y’know," Pax remarked in a bemused tone, "y’ain’t even th first person t’say that t’me this week. Ah ain’t sure Ah b’lieve Ah keep comin’ up with new records fer worst ever idea."
She paused, testing the rope, and then glanced over the cliff behind her. “Now jus’ help me get down there inta th’ Annihilator’s head, an’ we’ll see if there’s a useful relic’r two.”
