Ed is by far the prettiest person in all of Namimori middle and a majority of the student body has had a crush on him, but no one would say that to his face
They’ve seen the fights he gets into with Hibari
(Hibari also definitely tries to force the Sawada’s into the DC and fails bc you can’t out stubborn an Elric unless you’re and Elric or Izumi Curtis)
Ed is the accidental male idol of Namimori Elementary and Middle school and it's fucking hilarious how confused he is about the entire situation. But then the fights with Hibari start getting more and more violent and public and his idol status gets a little weird.
There may be war shrines dedicated to him on camps somewhere.
On the other hand, Al, the other and more traditional idol of the school, takes it all in stride with good humor.

Like he throws a paint balloon at someone and gets laughed at for missing? Nah nah sister. He was aiming for the curse wrapped around you like a depressed rope. The paint was infused with some of the weird red “chakra” he has and that always worked before.
oh oh i do love that. All of his pranks being him killing curses. Perfection. Painting stores and the Hokage monument? Bastardized wards and talismans to drive them away.

Had a Thought™ about KHR. (excuse spelling mistakes because I WILL be making them)
So the giglio Nero family canonically has the strongest skies right? Like this matrilineal family of Skies has, as far as we know, always held the strongest skies in existence. It doesn't matter who they have a kid with, their first kid is 1) always a girl (far as we know) 2) an insanely strong sky 3) has some type of foresight.
So my thought (story idea/premise IG). Nana is descended from this family in some probably convoluted distant way. This could explain her space cadet behavior. She is LITERALLY not mentally present in the, well present. But she's enough removed from the family line that what she's seeing is probably really confusing and has little resemblance to reality. Also, let's be honest, if you're seeing visions of an alternate or possible future existence and aren't aware what that is about? You probably think there's something wrong with you. To the point you probably instinctively disregard A LOT of things that would be odd or concerning because well, they don't make sense so are probably made up. (Nana basically taking masking to the extreme meaning she doesn't notice/pay attention to the Flame and Mafia stuff because nobody else around her notices/talks about it. So it's probably Not Real)
And then she meets Iemeitsu. Who let's be honest, also has something DEEPLY wrong with him. ( A sky with no guardians? When that's what they DO?! Something is wrong with him on a literal soul deep level.) But he just acts like a mildly eccentric goofy guy, who otherwise is Normal™. So Nana gets attached to him, because she sees something similar in him. And she ignores anything pretty obviously WRONG because well, it's not REAL is it? She's just seeing things again. Plus of course Iemeitsu can't act Normal™ all the time, SHE struggles with that and that's something else she feels they have in common. (Very much modeling the fact that neurodivergent people tend to gravitate towards each other, and ignore stuff that's 'not normal', because for them normal isn't a thing that exists.)
And then they have Tsuna. An insanely powerful Sky child (I think there's mention of him possibly being the future sky acrobaleno at some point? Might just be fanon tho) who from a pretty young age has Hyper-Intuition.
Nana probably assumes her son has inherited her problems regarding seeing non-existent things. She probably ignores the general weirdness of Iemeitsu bringing his boss home and her son changing entirely after the visit, because she can't figure out a logical reason for Tsuna to change, so OBVIOUSLY there can't be anything wrong there, he's just going through a growth spurt!
Tsuna gets bullied in school? Well, so did Nana growing up. The fact the teachers are in on it? Not outside her perception of reality, because that's just how people treat those who are different, who can't 'Act Normal ™'. The problem of course here is that this behavior was Normal™. She was gaslit into believing this was expected and tacitly encouraged by society.
But, there's that little part that's still a mother, and doesn't understand WHY people act like this, and SURELY it's NOT Normal™ for people to treat her son like this!? It can't be reality! Right?! So obviously it's something ELSE her brain is making up, so something she should ignore entirely!
It would take ..... A LOT to have her come to terms with the fact that all that stuff she was convinced wasn't really happening, and just something else her brain was lying to her about, is actually reality. She's closed herself into a teeny tiny box of what she considers reality and anything outside of that obviously ISN'T.
ohoho now this is an interesting take on Nana that I've never seen before and it's so fucking cool

Bc Tsuna has low self esteem regardless of the au
Ed is too busy being obnoxious to realize that people actually enjoy his company
And Al is actually self aware enough to realize how powerful and loyal the three of them are and that is a good thing in a Sky
Al is the most well-adjusted and self-aware of the three even if he is still fucking feral.
Reborn: *squinting at Al* The other two I get, but what's wrong with you?
Al: *still thrilled to have a body for this adventure* I'm just here to have a good time.
Reborn: That's bullshit somehow, I just know it.
Meanwhile, Al is just in the background of everything, being quietly menacing when necessary and outwardly the voice of reason the rest of the time, fully aware that the three of them are actually Prime Sky Real Estate. He'll pick up his own Elements eventually of course but for now he's content to see how everything else unfolds.

Every time Ed meets an Arcobaleno, Reborn is foaming at the mouth and beating them off with a stick because that is his!!! Sky!!! Back!!! Off!!!
(On Ed’s part, he just thinks he’s beefing with all the Not Babies except Lal bc she reminds him on some level of Hawkeye and he’s not dumb enough to beef with anyone who even remotely resembles her)
Oh god yes. Reborn is pressed. Because yes the Arcobaleno are also His but goddamn it, he doesn't need them butting in on his business right now.
Meanwhile, Ed treats Lal like Hawkeye, ignores the fuck out of Colonnello's loud ass, gets along surprisingly well with Skull because Aestethic, is always |.| this close to punting Fon through a wall, thinks Viper is pretentious, thinks Reborn is Very Pretentious, and is ready to knife fight Verde's no ethics having ass in any parking lot at any time ever.
Meanwhile, they all find him some degree of delightful and fascinating.

Hey Ray! Just had a thought!!
Naruto world where some people have the ability to literally give way their life years to their loved ones.
The reaper invocation seal is forbidden for a reason right? What if the rule is that everyone who perceives the reaper has to be taken by the God? Like u are only able to see the reaper when ur time has come... So when Minato forcefully called the reaper, the God naturally tried to take the souls of everyone affected by that jutsu in that clearing- as in Minato, Kurama and Naruto.
But Kushina with her instincts threw herself in the way- as such the reaper was only able to graze Naruto. Before the age old contract with the Uzumaki was invoked by Kushina. In which Kushina trades her life away for Naruto by giving him her life years and letting the Shinigami take her away.
Obviously Naruto was still death touched. As such he was stuck with these half living half mortal powers. He is able to see and perceive and access a world others can't. So when it becomes clear that he isn't wanted in Konoha he just... decides to move in to the spirit world, only coming back for human food.
In contrast Kakashi who is also death touched but has time and again been driven out of the Shinigami's hands by the acts of others. Like his mom giving away her life years when he was still born. Obito giving away his Sharingan extending his lifespan... Etc.
ohhh this is giving me sort of sideways Danny P. Naruto vibes and it's awesome

They’re literally called Dying Will Flames and Ed basically embodies the indomitable human will
He quite literally killed and bargained with two different gods and escaped death who knows how many times through sheer force of will

Well, Ed has always been at his most power with something on the line.

A Sky capable of holding other Skies.
Ed could have held the Sky Pacifier for centuries if Kawahira had gotten his hands on him.

The first time someone threatens any of the Arco in his presence, Ed loses his shit
What happened that day became mafia legend
Post the gang's move to Italy everyone outside of Tsuna/Ed/Al's group underestimates Ed when they first meet him because his Sky Flames don't really register properly to them.
Sure they assume he has to be strong, he's the Arcobaleno's chosen Sky after all.
But he's also young and pretty, and a former civilian who is the brother of the Vongola Decimo. So maybe that's really all the explanation needed.
So it's inevitable really that someone is going to fuck up one day.
Maybe it's the Triads, displeased with Fon finally cutting ties, no longer willing to be their "neutral enforcer" now that he has a Sky of his own to tend to.
Maybe, in their arrogance, they open their mouths and order Fon's return in front of Ed.
Later, in the smoking remnants of the meeting hall, the Triad representative are charred and burnt but alive only because Ed has never been one to kill unless there's no other choice.
"H-How?" one gasps when Fon comes to a strolling stop beside where they're splayed out on the destroyed ground. "His F-Flames barely ,,,"
"Tell me," Fon says softly, a Storm swirling in his eyes, "when you step outside your compounds, do you feel the sky above you? You cannot measure something so far beyond your grasp."
