“Why Do We Never See Anything Finished??”

Well no one has ever said that to me but if I’m thinking that, someone else must be. Unfortunately, I can only manage to a few hours daily in my studio and even that is broken up with interruptions from my Mother who has Alzheimer’s. However that shouldn’t be an excuse for not finishing a piece of artwork, so I’m hoping to change that this year by learning to settle my anxiety, perfectionism and frustration. It’s those three that take over when innocent distractions take part while I’m in the studio. I really would have loved to finish this sketch in the three hours allotted in the studio this morning. I get so edgy that if I went back to work on it, it would be ruined. I must calm myself down by looking at my contemporaries artwork online and grow the inspiration again. I’m so fortunate to have so many wonderful artist around my and that I can actually call my friends. Knowing this truly helps a lot. I will get back to this sketch. Probably sooner than later but right now I have to continue packing for the move, help my Mom find documents to get her health card renewed, dust and vacuum two rooms(probably studio and the bedroom), make dinner and do laundry. Please wish me luck! 🍀
