(i ever seen like 1/3 of my country's species aaaaaaa)
#this is how the jump from pokemon go to birding works. i wish more made the leap. number go up is good but more importantly-#there are SO MANY good birds to see!!!#and fucking congrats hotdamn!!! is that mostly patch birding or going after tough stuff?#personally i am at just under half of my state's ebird species list :D#(I am birding very hard this year for sentimental reasons)

TBH it does actually make sense to me that he'd be known for pep talks.
This person that you know has a young son. Maybe this child is sick already. Maybe this is before then. He has a child, and he loves this child, and he might throw him up in the air whenever this child has accomplished something, might cheer and shout him along during a game, might pick him up and dust him off when he falls down and tells him that he should always get back up again.
Is it that hard to believe that he might always be running over with that love? Is it that hard to believe that those patterns might be directed at others?
You know now that I think about it (and have rewatched some of the original leverage) the weird part about the writer-insurance guy saying that Nate Ford was always there with a pep talk isn't like, the pep talk part of it.
Nate can do pep talks. Sometimes the pep talk is him shouting "YOU CAN DO THIS" at Hardison to get him to land the plane, and it's not like he does them a lot but like, he has pep talked. And I could see that maybe while he was IYS and in a better headspace, he might have done those more often.
It's the idea that he was known for it that's a little harder.

You might think that I'm joking when I say that we need cyborg rights to be codified into law, but I honestly think that, given the pace of development of medical implants and the rights issues raised by having proprietary technologies becoming part of a human body, I think that this is absolutely essential for bodily autonomy, disability rights, and human rights more generally. This has already become an issue, and it will only become a larger issue moving forwards.
