True Dreamon: a random dmsp headcanon/AU i had

I literally had this random epiphany out of nowhere while i was dazing off and shit

i was always bothered how the dreamon hunters arc didnt get expanded further beyond a few references, and also the mystery of Ranboo’s white half...i think this my brains copying mechanism....

Well, without further ado, I introduce to y’all: True Dreamon! brace yourselves for a loooooong ride

Let’s start: Dreamons are one of the many sentient species that roam the SMP and have been around since forever. They´re little pale blobs that jump around that vary in color and have weird mouths that makes it look like they’re perpetually smiling.

-Being tiny blobs, Dreamons are very physically weak. Even foxes or wolves can overpower one, but there’s a catch: Dreamons have strong psychic abilities, like sensing emotions, mind reading and levitating objects.

They’re also known for “bodysnatching”; a self defense tactic where they get something or someone else’s body and use it to suit their needs, like having more physical prowess pr hiding their true form. While in the ancient past, Dreamons just snatched dead bodies or hypnotized feeble animals or humans, this fell in desuse in favor of creating a body from natural materials.(ie. Our Dream controls a body made out of slime.)

Although infamous for being manipulative tricksters, Dreamons aren’t inherently evil. Records have shown Humans, Hybrids(animal people like Fundy or Techno) and Dreamons living in harmony with each other, and that Dreamons with good intentions were extremely kind, pacifist and understanding friends.

These Dreamons, who lived alongside civilized society away from their home tribes in the wild, eventually changed their appearence along the years, becoming more humanoid, taller, and with limbs. But their psychic abilities, although not lost, became severely atrophied, and only with rigorous training could be unlocked. This subspecies, coloquially called “Dreamonfolk” or False Dreamons, they were looked down by the wild, “True” Dreamons for becoming too soft.

Despite being accepted by many, True Dreamons and Dreamonfolk alike were also hated by many. Dreamon Hunters were seen as local heroes and knights in many kingdoms, specialized in countering their mind powers. Slaughtered to the point of extinction, the True Dreamons became even more recluse, migrating to the most remote parts of the server, and Dreamonfolk decided to leave their homes and friends behind for their own good. For many, many years, the documented Dreamon appearences could be counted with a single digit.

Until the infamous green blob we all know and hate showed up. He managed to become very influent and feared with his manipulation and fighting skills, all that while keeping his true nature relatively a secret. “Dream” isn’t his actual name (hes ashamed of his actual name? we’ll never know ;P ), and bringing the Dreamon topic around him makes him extremely uncomfortable and rude. It is to be expected of a “True” Dreamon to be opportunistic and antisocial.

Close friends like George, Sapnap and Bad know about it but dont know much about how his abilities. And he even put on a little “show” for Tubbo and Fundy when they suspected of him. A lot of misinformation was written about Dreamons as way to protect their secrets, many of it made by Dreamons manipulating historians, like the golden hoes, farmland, and iron doors rituals Tubbo was talking about, and Dream decided to play along. (he was suspended by a wire and stabbed himself in the flying scene)

Ranboo, our favorite memory boi, is half Enderman, half Dreamonman. While his aggressive and shy side clearly comes from the Ender half, I can see his kindness and making friends easily as the Dreamon half. The ominous “voice” is obviously Dream talking to his mind and altering his brain to imagine/forget stuff and trigger the Ender frenzy. Dreamons used to communicate with each other by mind reading, so its easier for him to temper with Ranboo unlike say, Tommy or Tubbo, for human/hybrid minds arent really made for psychic powers.

yay that concludes my lore dump ahaha...im kinda leaning on writing some one shot scenes with this au but eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee idkk if ye or no
