why I LOVE Nicoletta from Ristorante Paradiso
1. She is hardworking and is sincere in her pursue of cooking
2. She is empathetic. She understands the significance of Claudio having an attachment to the ring since he still have feelings for his ex-wife. She understand how important the memories he shared with his previous wife is. And seeing him blatantly taking off the rings (as if saying it doesn’t matter) upsets her.
3. She is brutally honest and very caring. Her anger at Gabrielle is not from frustration of her feelings being unrequited by Claudio, but instead its from seeing Claudio hurt by his ex-wife action of coming to the restaurant while knowing he still have feelings for her. Seeing Claudio depressed because of Gabrielle, made her angry.
4. She can compartmentalize her emotions, depending on the issue. Despite her anger towards Gabrielle, she still understands she is her no-good mom’s best friend. And considering she knows the pain of not having someone important be with her, she wouldn’t want her mom to go through that. (Nicoletta is too good for her mom, but because of her kindness, I love her more & more).
5. She is forgiving. By the end of the series she finally forgave her mom. Even made her a cake for her birthday. Despite her mom abandoning her with her grandma for the sake of a man, Nicoletta genuinely forgave her. The mom finally told her husband about her so its fair for Nicoletta in this sense. Gabrielle pointed out, maybe the reason Nicoletta turns out okay, because she wasn’t raised by the mom. So its actually a good thing she was raised by her grandmother.
6. She is patient. She had never rushed Claudio to accept her feelings. Though in episode 2 she did sorta “attack” him, but when she saw he’s not comfortable with the situation, she back off. And in the end, patience wins her the man.
I love her!!! It was so good to see her grow in the series. Seeing her character development is also satisfying! I’m glad she got to be with the person she loves. And I’m glad Claudio is able to accept her feelings without any lingering attachment to his ex-wife.
Oh and did I mention: I love her!!!
