ok so this started because, the thing about dusthides is that they have a very cool thing going on with their wing, where the secondary is only visible on the underside of the wing and not the top. unfortunately, only one pose (F) shows this off at all, so I wondered if the M pose could be altered to show the back wing to emphasize that trait. and also i thought it would be cool if the secondary was also on the underside of the plating, which i then had to add more of, and then also i had to draw the F pose to see if i could reposition the tail to show off THAT attribute. and then since i was drawing them ANYWAY i just redesigned some other things. for fun. i dont think i did it super great but it was a fun exercise!!

some Ancient designs for if ancients were more like what i thought they would be like when gaolers first came out (prototype modern breeds)

was reading an old thread of banned names on FR and the consequent unbanning of Mulch etc, and it was funny to me how many people thought these names were banned because it was offensive etc. A lot of 'ALL OF THESE TUMBLRINAS ARE TOO SENSITIVE' lol, 2013 was a weird time.

when a lot of the names were banned to essentially protect the brand in the early days. I imagine it was to try to stomp out what was a pattern of many virtual pet sites dubbing the methods of ridding the site of unwanted pets (i.e. the obsessed wajas fan, the pound for neopets, the mother bear for wolvden***) as horrific torture which essentially encouraged players hoarding and some mfs running virtual puppy mills (which is undeniably hilarious.)

flight rising did not want people thinking exalting was this evil, cruel thing to do with your dragons when the sites mechanics relies on people competitively clearing out unwanted dragons. if players (younger, more pet-orientated players) thought that exalting your triple basic tundra hatchling was a 'snackrifice' they would start holding onto every dragon and clog up the servers.

Exalting isn't just a cool drive to get players to build communities and do fun pushes with a healthy sense of competition, its to make sure the number of dragons on the site doesn't bloat and crash it.

***fun fact players on wolvden name their unwanted and often inbred pups bear food. which is objectively very funny.
