Most people enjoyed it but it was full of over-acting by all actors (except Amna Ilyas, you were great sweetie), none of the characters held your attention, the movie was about cinema - but there was no glamour. I.. just.. don’t.. get.. it.

what did you think of superstar?

The movie is very sweet and wholesome.

Not a single negative character, nice family dynamics, cute love story, Bilal-Mahira looked good together, the main girl was allowed to dream, achieve her goals and overall nice character development as well. Oh also, the music in the movie fits so nicely with the story, Ghalat fehmi is still one of my most listened to songs. You should definitely watch it when Hum airs it on Eid!

I agree with you so much with literally everything you say in regards to Hamza ali abbasi. Do you find it hypocritical that both him and naimal khan are so PRO pakistan, especially hamza, but then they fly to the usa and stay there so she can have her baby there?

I think its fair to recognize that Pakistan is a developing nation and having a western nationality could lead their child with many opportunities that the child wouldn’t necessarily have access to in Pakistan (education, easier travel etc.) However, his family is rich and part of the elite - his child wouldn’t be suffering as the lower class often does.

You’re right, it is completely hypocritical when his entire brand is in support of nationalism and all things Pakistani yet he seeks advantages that an “enemy” nation offers. Why not go to China or Turkey aka our biggest allies? His hyper-nationalism always feels disingenuous. pretty sure his kids will go to an english-medium school. dekhte hain.
