Hello and welcome to my art blog! Most of my art is reblogged from my roleplay blogs, including my main one Chainsxwsmile. Please do not use any artwork (be it reference, tracing, or reposting) without my permission and credit. Support me on KOFI!
I’m SURE that’s not gonna bite her in the butt in the future 😬 I STG if he does turn out evil…
It’s my first time drawing Roger and his cheek tufts are RIGHT up my alley style-wise. I can definitely tell that the creative team had a lot of fun with him, and when episode eight rolled around, I felt myself getting attached.
A screenshot from one of the upcoming chapters of my fanfic “It Feels Like Tonight” now on ao3 wherein the walls finally come down, and Johnny and Ari bond.
I finally finished Monty ‘Mothman’ Solberg’s full design, including his human disguise!
When Ari Dhar finally reunited with Johnny Worthington after years of separation, she had made a side-job/volunteer in finding banished monsters and providing shelter and disguises.
Her roommate, Monty Solberg, owned a lightroom studio in Monstropolis until he was accused of tax evasion. Despite little evidence, he was found guilty on a technicality and banished to the human world.
Due to Monty’s ability to disguise himself feasibly, he fairs well in the human world. Because ‘Mothman’ isn’t seen largely as a threatening cryptid, Monty doesn’t feel entirely unsafe among humans.
I’m getting waaaay too ahead of myself but I made a banished Monsters Inc. / Monsters at Work universe Mothman for grown-up Ari to shelter and protect. I’m hoping to make his human disguise soon! The guy’s really tall but still shorter than grown-up Ari.
I was gonna put a stupid reason for his banishment like idk tax evasion but I’m on the fence about that!
Who knew that gymnastics would come in handy in the Monster World?
The MU website mentions a horror film night ft. “favorite child villains”, meaning that the Monster World has horror media depicting human children in place of our world’s creature-features.
The context is amusing, considering that Johnny now has to fight a few instinctual fears ingrained by monster society!
Johnny Worthington as a human and Ari Dhar as a monster! I wanted to give Johnny a prominent jaw because of his nickname (’The Jaw’) at Fear Co— plus his typical jock appearance and being very top heavy! Just trying to keep as true as I can to his monster form!
Ari’s monster form heavily reflects her human design AND monster disguise, with her wings/cape translating to a bird-like monster!
“This is all my fault, Ari. I’m so sorry.” Worthingtons don’t apologize. But in that moment, pangs of guilt flooded out any semblance of pride. This was his fault.
For your OC Ari, what would she look like if she was in Monsters at Work?
If MU does take place in 1987 as some people have assumed, and MI takes place in 2001– that would make Ari Dhar 26 years old during post-MI / Monsters at Work
Ari’s disguise is similar but different enough to prevent the CDA from being too suspicious, as well as being significantly more well tailored and sewn. Ari has also sprung up height-wise to about 6’2” and has an athletic physique, having kept up parkour and gymnastics into her later years.
Aarini ‘Ari’ Dhar strikes a deal with Johnny Worthington.
It was pretty fun designing even just Johnny’s door to his bedroom. Pixar mentioned how, out of all the ROR members, the ROR house is mostly designed after Johnny Worthington, so I continued that structure with his door design, wallpaper, and even doorknob.
“I live and breathe horror movies. I’ve seen tons of rated-R films! If it’s anyone who can give you the right information about what scares human kids —and even adults!— it’s me.”
Ari convinces Johnny Worthington against reporting her to the CDA
Some lazy overpainting and not my background (source: screenshot by Infinity Guru on Disney’s Kinect) but still something I’m happy with. Though I belatedly realize that the writing is hard to see 😭
