as much as i love broadway jack kelly (and i do adore that little motherfucker) i will always be disappointed that they took away all his little cowboy stuff

follow up!!

okay so i saw the show and here are my thoughts!

i really really really enjoyed it, i genuinely thought it was one of the most well done shows i’ve seen. the sets, costumes, special effects, lights, and props were absolutely stunning everything felt very real and immersive like i actually felt like i was in new york in the 1920’s. as for the cast they were absolutely spectacular. i went into this show very excited for jeremy and eva but everyone else absolutely KILLED. shoutout to noah ricketts and samantha pauly because they absolutely CARRIED every single scene they were in. like actually so fucking good. every single person in this cast had an insane amount of talent like everyone was amazing. as for the songs, i know a lot of reviews have been saying the songs were bland/boring but i completely disagree, every single song helped move the plot along, every single song had so much emotion and was just fire. i cannot wait for the cast recording. my favorite songs were definitely new money, my only tea, my green light, SHADY, past is catching up to me, and made the last. but i cannot stress enough that every single song in this show is so good. like even if you don’t plan on seeing it i highly recommend you give the soundtrack a listen. i would also like to give a shoutout to la dee dah with you because that tap number was fucking fire. whoever choreographed that handed jeremy jordan a pair of tap shoes and made dreams come true (made my dreams come true) because jeremy ate up that dance like i thought he wasn’t a dancer turns out he decided to come out of no where and eat up that tap number. also every single part of that tap number was perfect and it’s definitely in my top five scenes in the whole show. finally, i cannot stress enough how incredible the special effects/lighting were i know i already said this but it was genuinely such an immersive and beautiful show.

overall, this was a 10/10 show and it really did change my life.

also extra fun little thing! today was also the opening day of illinoise on broadway and my friend and i snuck off from the group to go see st james theater to see the billboards which was awesome because it’s their favorite show and i really really wanna see it so that was awesome!
