Nas Drops Contempt Charges Against Kelis Amid Custody Battle: Report
Nas and Kelis’ everlasting custody battle over their son has been filled with twists and turns. Earlier this year, Nas accused Kelis of violating their custody agreement after bringing their son on an impromptu trip to Columbia. She was later charged with contempt but it looks like Nas had a change of heart and dropped the charges against her just days before their court hearing.

According to The Blast, Nas filed court documents requesting the dismissal of the contempt charges against Kelis. Court documents revealed the rapper’s lawyer filed the documents last week. The hearing was supposed to take place today but it’s now removed from the calendar. Nas previously told the judge that he wanted her found in contempt, claiming she violated their custody agreement over their sons seventeen times since January of last year.
He explained the holiday agreement with Kelis meant that she would have their son on Christmas and he would get him on New Year’s Eve. “In or around December of 2018, Petitioner (Kelis) moved to Cartagena, Colombia and took the minor child without my consent,” he said in his affidavit before claiming that Kelis told him she planned on staying in Columbia to tend to a farm in the country with her husband. He wrote, “On Christmas, Petitioner informed me by text message that although her ‘plan’ had been to bring the minor child back to me in Los Angeles for New Year’s, the plan had changed. She then stated that the new plan was to come back on January 4, 2019.”
Kelis entered a pleaded not guilty to 20 counts of contempt.

Radiohead’s Thom Yorke Is Releasing New Solo Album ‘ANIMA’ Really Really Soon
Radiohead frontman, Thom Yorke is releasing a new album, ANIMA next Thursday, 27th June. The initial release will be digital, with the physical release following Friday, 19th July.
He’s also teamed up with long time pal, Paul Thomas Anderson for a ‘one-reeler’ titled ANIMA too. In a Netflix Teaser, the pair define a ‘one-reeler’ as, “a motion picture, especially a cartoon or comedy, of 10-12 minutes duration and contained on one reel of film; popular especially in the era of silent films”. The musical short film will feature three tracks from Yorke’s new album.
The nine track release will have a bonus track exclusively on vinyl. Last month in an interview, Thom Yorke revealed his new solo album would be centred around dystopia and anxiety.

“For some reason, I thought a really good way of expressing anxiety creatively was in a dystopian environment. I had so many visual things going on at this point. Another one was where everybody was traveling to work but their bodies were telling them that they wouldn’t do it anymore. They were refusing to cooperate, so they were doing these involuntary movements,” he told Crack Magazine.
In the same interview he mentioned Radiohead have been working on some new stuff too. Thom Yorke’s new album is out next Thursday. You can watch the Netflix trailer and peek the tracklisting below.

The tour will kick off in September, the last time Troye Sivan toured Australia was back in 2016. He’ll kick things off at HBF Stadium in his hometown of Perth before visiting Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne.

Metallica cover The Stone Roses ‘I Wanna Be Adored’
It’s a tradition that at some point during a Metallica show, bassist Robert Trujillo and guitarist Kirk Hammett will band together for a few minutes to play whatever their heart desires, this will usually be a track from an artist local to the city they’re playing.
Metallica graced the stage at Etihad Stadium in Manchester on Tuesday evening, in support of the European leg of their WorldWired tour. To celebrate touching down in the iconic city, the band decided to pay homage to hometown heroes The Stone Roses.
“We’re playing local music tonight celebrating the music of this city,” Trujill told the audience ahead of launching into the iconic opening riff of ‘I Wanna Be Adored’. “You’ve got to sing because I can’t!”
Naturally, the crowd went ape-shit. As Rolling Stone notes, The Stone Roses are so unfathomably popular in their hometown that they managed to play four sold-out nights at that very stadium during their reunion tour in 2016.

DJ Mustard Honored With “Mustard Day” In Los Angeles
DJ Mustard’s being recognized for his contributions to South Los Angeles. June 19th now marks Mustard Day in Los Angeles. Mustard was honored today with the declaration ceremony taking place at City Hall chambers. "I never would have imagined having a day in the city I was born and raised in,“ Mustard said. "I am just super grateful and happy that I could even be named, or have a day in this city, because everything I do is for the city.”
Mustard was also dubbed the ambassador for the of the Boys & Girls Club who benefited from the resources of the organization. He explained that the Boys & Girls Club was vital in helping him find his passion in music.
“I am truly excited to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles,” he continued. "They are truly doing the important work to prepare youth to graduate from high school with a plan to support them in becoming the next generation of leaders in our community. Mentors, like my Uncle Tyrei, helped me see the possibilities of a career in music and production—I want to do the same for thousands of youth at the Clubs and help them fulfill their own personal dreams.“
Aside from his recent honor, his new album Perfect Tendrops on June 28th. He’ll also be opening up for Meek Mill and Future on the Legendary Nights tour.

YouTube Rapper Benjiboy Staccs Arrested For Pimping An 18 Year-Old
A YouTube rapper, named Angel Oritz Diamond, who allegedly raps about the pimping subculture has been arrested and charged with pimping and pandering an 18-year-old woman. Diamond, aged 31, hails from Los Angeles and goes by the name of “Benjiboy Staccs” on YouTube. He was arrested last Monday and charged with a felony count each, for both pimping and pandering.
Diamond, who’s scheduled to make his next court appearance on Thursday, pleaded not guilty to the charges. According to the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force, Diamond’s activities were closely inspected after they received a tip from the relative of an 18-year-old Orange County woman. Authorities report that Diamond has posted several videos to YouTube with songs which “glorify the pimping subculture.” As well as this, in many of his videos, in which lyrics are peppered with profanity and derogatory names for women, he waves around stacks of hundred-dollar bills and is surrounded by scantily clad women (but what else is new here?)

Troye Sivan announces Australian Bloom tour
Actual cherub Troye Sivan has announced his long-awaited homecoming tour. Sivan will be celebrating his second album Bloom around the country this September.
The Bloom tour will kick off at HBF Stadium in Troye’s hometown of Perth on Monday, September 16th, before making its way to Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Wednesday, September 18th, Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on Friday, September 2oth, Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on Monday, September 23rd, and finishing off at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne on Wednesday September 25th.
This marks Troye Sivan’s first national tour since 2016.
Sivan released Bloom in August last year and sent our collective heads into a flurry. The record was a slice of pop heaven; a perfect collection of songs that ebbed and flowed between ballads and pop bangers.
