Otheryarn 28: Matilda

Matilda ganders at the hung painting of a demon and a human woman in distress. Really weird, since these "humans" don't really exist in this world; here, they're as much a fictional race as elves or dwarves.

Something seems to be bothering her, staring at this painting. A feeling that something might be up with her friends... It might be time to visit them in their new home after all, regardless of if that accursed summer sun blazes hot or not.

Matilda's Theme:

Matilda made a theme for herself, and even sampled her own voice to use as the strange lead. She figures something kinda weird and a little mysterious would fit.

Lance's Theme:

Lance is a pretty simple and friendly guy, who enjoys a lot of cute things, so a simple and cute theme would be most fitting.

Matilda brings up her music files for a quick listen.

Dean's theme:

He thinks he's really cool, so Matilda figured some sick beats and a totally radical scratch backing would fit.

Otheryarn 26: Matilda

Matilda decides it's time to go onto her trusty laptop. Seems like everyone has that one item of theirs they keep dearly, with Dean's being his camcorder, and Matilda's being her laptop. Does no one have a desktop PC around here?

She decides it's high time she reviews a couple musical projects she's been working on... Theme songs for her and her friends! It's a little project she thought of recently that's sure to wow the other two.

Otheryarn 25: Matilda

Matilda Murtz, the snake girl, best friend to Dean and Lance Hawks. One might suspect she'd be good at sneaking around and being all cunning and stuff but she's really just pretty low-key.

She enjoys the random dark humor and sarcasm, and is a big fan of gothic, emo, and scene fashion. She's also a geek for demonic folklore and also, for some reason, pirates. Like literally "ahoy landlubber" sailing the 7 seas pirates.

She doesn't really have a favorite food, but has a plethora of hobbies, such as drawing, writing music, and sometimes programming. Though best friends with the likes of Dean, she can see right through his claims of being a witch and ghost speaker; she should know because she herself actually knows what witches do... Not that she's one herself.

Otheryarn 24: Matilda

Meanwhile, somewhere else in the world, though not too terribly far from where we last were, exists Matilda Murtz. The best friend of Dean and Lance, and a girl of many varying hobbies and interests.

Now, just who exactly is this mysterious Matilda Murtz?

Otheryarn 23: Dean, Lance, Timmy

[TM] In this wood gateway, much bigness ectonite source. [DH] The ghosts are in the... Basement? [LH] Ooooh, how spooky! [TM] Subterranean chamber, yes. [LH] We haven't been in the basement yet, this is exciting. [DH] Yeah it's the place everyone said is the most haunted out of this whole house! That and the upstairs bathroom. [LH] Yeah but wasn't the upstairs bathroom like just a leaky pipe thingy? [DH] Yeah, but it could've been a haunted leaky pipe thingy. [TM] Proceed wearily. The magnum ectonite organism could display endangering attitudes!

Otheryarn 22: Timmy

To summarize a sudden massive drop of exposition, Timmy explains what he knows of ghosts and the supernatural.

Apparently, every physical object contains "ectonite" in it, and every living being, be it plant, animal, or person, has a soul made of highly condensed, sentient ectonite.

When something dies, it's soul is released as a kind of "ghost". The kind of ghost they become, whether something like a standard spirit or an aggressive poltergeist, depends on many factors, most of which no one even knows. Sometimes, ghosts become so powerful, they are reborn into beings of pure power and spectral existence. Earthlings would know them best as demons.

That's pretty much all he knows, or all most would ever know, which is still a heck of a lot more knowledge than anyone on Earth would have.

Otheryarn 21: Dean, Lance, Timmy

By a profound stroke of luck, Dean's camcorder started functioning again like normal at the most convenient time. Well, actually, it was only faulty in the first place due to the interfering energy of Timmy's teleporter, which is now completely absent.

As it turns out, Timmy does have the natural ability to sense ghostly activity with his mind, and the machine he mentioned prior was only there to extend the range of his senses. He knows very well something big resides within this house, out of anywhere on planet Earth.

Otheryarn 20: Dean & Lance

With newfound knowledge of the English language, the one-eyed creature approaches Dean and Lance and introduces themselves as...

Timmy.

Timmy = [TM]

[TM] My name is Timmy, and from this world does not have me in the past. Other planet I'm. [LH] Huh? [DH] I think he just said he's an alien, Lance! [TM] Yes. An alien is what myself be is. [LH] I thought we were looking for ghosts, not aliens! [TM] Behold, for I am myself twice a seeker of spectral beings like yourselves! [LH] Dean it's a little hard to understand what he's saying... [DH] Don't worry, he'll get better at it, Lance. [TM] My mechanicular apparatus of spectral seekness has detected many abound spectral energy in this establishment! [DH] You uh... Have a machine that looks for a ghost and you found some in our house? [TM] Righty-ho. Very, VERY large spectral anomaly this here. No cap, this is poggers. [DH] ...This is poggers... Yeah alright, I can fly with that. So why did you explode in our back yard? [TM] The warping appliance of my gravityless abode in orbit around this globe had committed malfunctionness. [DH] In other words, your teleporter failed? [TM] Bet. [LH] Hey Timmy wanna join our ghost hunting team, then? [TM] That sounds like swag and awesome-sauce to me, rawr XD so quirky. [DH] (Lance we have to help him fix his English asap.)

Otheryarn 19: ???

The creature opened the book and began to read. They didn't read at a measly mortal pace, no. The creature flipped through dozens of pages a second, reading and comprehending every single word in the book, absorbing as much information as possible with their big eye.

Otheryarn 18: ???

While Dean and Lance were distracted talking to each other about what they want to teach this creature they found, the creature decided to wander over to their bookshelf.

Nearly all of the books in that shelf were found from random shops or yard sales and Dean and Lance have read pretty much none of them; they exist for decorative purposes.

The creature conveniently finds the English dictionary, an updated version that includes a lot of modern slang and lingo.

Otheryarn 17: Dean & Lance

Returning to the livingroom, it seems as though power has returned to the house, but various electronics such as the camcorder are still a little haywire. It's time to teach this green guy some good ol' English!

[LH] Hey, I think we should call Matilda and show her our new friend. [DH] That's a genius idea, Lance! Except our phones don't work right now. [DH] Anyway we should get this guy learning some words so we can know more about him. [LH] Say apple! [??] ... [DH] Can you say Fart Lord 25? [??] ... [LH] Do you have a name Mr. Ghosty? [??] Not... Ghost... [LH] HIS NAME IS NOT GHOST!!! [DH] YOOO!!! [??] ...Not Not Ghost.

Otheryarn 16: Dean & Lance

Creature = [??]

[DH] So uh, hey, are you like, a ghost by any chance? Like maybe the one that haunts this house? [LH] Yeah are you here to haunt our souls too? [??] ...Ghost...? Haunt...? [LH] Yeah man, and by the way, cool eye. [DH] Yeah so like how ancient are you, man? A ghost from like the caveman times where everyone was like a basic lifeform or something? [??] Caveman...? Ancient...? [DH] Dude I think it's learning to speak from our language. [LH] Y'know Dean this ghost seems kinda solid to me. [DH] ...Kinda solid to me. Yeah well obviously it's like one of those super specters that can become a solid being whenever they want. [??] Solid... Being... [??] Not ghost... Not ancient... [LH] OMG Dean can we bring him inside and teach him English?! We can have a ghosty buddy! [DH] Well it might not be a "he", or a "she" or like... Anything for that matter. I think. Anyway, sure, this is rad. [??] I... He?

Otheryarn 15: Dean & Lance

A loud explosion is heard right out back of their place, so Dean and Lance sprint outside just to find some kind of strange one-eyed green-skinned humanoid standing before them!

Is this perhaps the very ghost that haunts this house? Has it taken a human (well, human enough) form in order to stop those that intrude upon it's domain?!

Well then, I suppose the resident ghost-speaker Dean has a few questions to ask of this bizarre fellow.
