I'm happy my asks made you reconsider how ridiculous your characterization of haldir is.

Also, sorry to rag on and on about those hate asks… I just want to note that I’m not out here looking for followers. I typically only keep a small number of mutuals because I get overwhelmed quickly as I want to interact with you all. I typically don’t even keep over 50 followers at most and I only keep mutuals. So, I just want to note that I’m not looking for numbers. I’m looking for friends and people who I can freely interact with in a safe environment that I’m creating for myself. People who are vehemently against other people’s right to live freely do not fit that bill for me.

Also note: I am very sex positive. Sex has always been apart of my characterization for all of my muses since I reached legal age. Elves, canonically, are not sex repulsed beings unless they identify as asexual. (Which idk if they would have used that term but I am sure, like all beings, there were asexual elves). My blog is only a couple of weeks old and I’m still exploring his characterization when I have time - which as you may have notice, I am not on often because I have a very demanding job and outside life. Writing romance and smut with friends is fun to me so of course I’m gonna put energy into that. I’m not a great writer. I never claimed to be. I’m not trying to publish any fiction story with half ass smut like I do on here, trust me. But, don’t shame people for having sex as a part of their characterization. Don’t shame people for enjoying that. Haldir’s character canonically is barebones. I love character building and world building. (Trust me, @starpalmed can vouch for me on how complicated I can get) but he will be a lot more than the sex fiend I have him now being (which rly he isn’t… he is incredibly mild compared to some muses I’ve written in the past)

making elf culture my own: so, i know i am writing a canon tolkien character but i just wanna note that i am going to be making up some aspects of elven culture just because i can and i wanna. so, here are some things about elves in my own interpretation

elves have a very intense hair culture similar to dwarves. while in dwarven culture, braids and the act of braiding is symbolic, meaningful, and intimate, elves find the care of hair to be the same. braiding doesn’t mean much to the elves. i am making this up because tolkien never really spoke of elves hair except for this passage here. but, in my interpretation of elvish culture, washing and brushing hair is almost like a religious ritual. elves naturally have beautiful, nearly flawless hair but of course, they do keep it up. brushing each others hair out is an act of intimacy reserved for lovers, with exception of parents caring for their children. elves do braid, but unlike the dwarves, it is seen as a practical way of keeping their hair from their face when being active rather than symbolism like the dwarves. idk if i’m explaining any of this right but there you have it. 

elves typically mate for life. already it is elvish custom to only marry once. (that’s just canon right there) and elves typically are not fueled by lust. in my interpretation of haldir, he mates for life like all elves do, but he is lustful to the potential lover he has chosen. not outright like men usually are but he certainly fantasizes and can be a bit suggestive. i write it like this, because there are always exceptions. haldir is an exception. he likes sex, what can i say? 

while elves only marry once, i am going to follow that rule lightly in case any need for angst arrises. 

I am going to completely ignore the ‘ no premarital sex’ rule that is canon for elves in tolkien lore.
