actual criticisms of academia:
cost of education acting as class barrier
exploitation of graduate workers
colonialist past and present
ties to military industrial complex
danger of power structure entrenching and justifying orthodox views on social issues
criticisms of academia that get made:
those damn ivory tower academics are wasting money learning about things

no offence but the reason tumblr is “dying” is, well, yes, of course the cursed like/reblog ratio and the change in user behaviour (because of people being used to how instagram and tiktok work) BUT also the lack of weekly shows. i say it with my whole chest, they don't produce captivating and engaging stupid weekly tv shows anymore because streaming killed that so you have spikes of activity here when Something happens in general fandom or up to three days after a new season of whatever drops and then it's a wasteland. this is obviously an old woman yelling at a cloud missing supernatural and the vampire diaries and pretty little liars and all these other shows type of post but honestly give me back weekly tv shows where i have something to watch for 40 minutes almost every day of the week after work so then i can read and reblog it on tumblr give it back for the sake of my sanity

11 and 18 for the non-American asks? :)
Thanks for asking!
11. favourite native writer/poet?
I really like Mariana Enríquez! She writes gothic/horror books. Highly recommend! I used to love Horacio Quiroga's short stories as a kid, they are horror too and they are awesome, the ones of the jungle I used to reread so much. And of course can one not mention Maria Elena Walsh when she was the one who got me into reading? Her music and books are a childhood staple
18. do you speak with a dialect of your native language?
Mmm i don't know? I speak Rio Platense Spanish, that I guess it's different from Spain, Chile's and other countries from latin America but I don't know if it count s as a dialect. There are places in Argentina (like Córdoba and Mendoza) that have more of an accent, I don't tho :)
