i’m really sorry for the sudden burst of inactivity over here! i’ve been busy working on another project over the past few days, and it’s taken up almost all of my attention.

                    appearances are important and all, but if you seriously think she can be in any way bothered to get out of her pajamas right now, you have another thing coming.

“Yes… a lighter bullet wound means you’ll have fewer complications.“ That was putting it simple, but the details was probably the last thing she should talk about with a patient that needed to remain calm. Continuing treating the other she tried to keep up the conversation.

“I understand…you wouldn’t mind maybe resting over at my home? Or I could pay for a room at a local hotel for a while?“ Technically she could offer to let the other sleep at her clinic but that would be putting a lot of trust into this woman. Though did she have multiple places to rest at her home? She guess she could rest on her sofa? The wound was fairly easy to treat, if only for her experience with this type of treatment “And don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll only have to rest at most two-three days.”

                    “ sounds like it’s my lucky day. “ the hacker drawled, forcing a grim smile. at least lucky as far as bullet wounds went- sombra obviously didn’t make getting shot into a habit and had no plans to do so in the future. still, the fewer complications, the better; she was a very busy woman, after all. 

                    there was a brief pause as the hacker considered her options. ideally a hotel would have been her best bet- the privacy it would have afforded her was invaluable. unfortunately, in her current state, sombra really wasn’t sure if being alone was worth the risk. after all, there was always a chance her attackers would come looking for her- and she wasn’t so foolish as to assume she’d be so fortunate a second time around. perhaps the smartest course of action would be to lay low for the next few days in a place they wouldn’t expect to look. even if it meant trying to keep up the innocent charade for a little while longer.

                    “ i... i don’t want to be an inconvenience, “ she began, filling her voice with bashful hesitation, “ but i’m not really, uh, comfortable being alone right now. if you’d be alright with letting me stay at your home just for a little while... i mean, you’ve already done so much to help me already, it seems rude to ask, but... “

It was surprising and somewhat relieving to learn that she didn’t dislike omnics. Or at the very least, not biased towards them. He did hear of her past, after all. As for motives, it was to help them for the sake of growing the people, team and overall goal. People were more open to your suggestions if you do aid them, after all…not that he was trying to use or manipulate them, of course. Simply…hold them back a bit. Their actions were one of the largest reasons why more didn’t join their cause, as well as their lack to actually share the cause…so most people only saw them as traditional enemies of the people. 

This lack of transparency seemed to be within the group as well, given that they were more than happy to create an area outside of the hacker’s domain. Soundproofed, no windows, no cameras, manual lock and key…it was clear that it was an area to hold meetings when they tried to opt out one of the more observant participants.

Although it was somewhat unfair to her. Hence why he was here - there was a lot of somewhat useful information that was shared there, packed in an analog-only data hand-written folders for everyone involved. Which was what he was carrying when he entered the room, giving her ample time to mentally prepare herself as he approached her at the table, placing the folder in front of her.

                    they were smart not to trust her, not that the hacker was willing to voice as much. after all, sombra’s core allegiance was to herself and herself alone- talon was simply a means to an end. that didn’t necessarily mean they couldn’t collaborate, but if their goals ever happened to conflict, the hacker wasn’t above sabotage in order to ensure she got what she wanted. still, she could be the model of efficiency otherwise- albeit in her own way. it was good to be useful, beneficial to her continued alliance with the group. even if talon did have their suspicions- and rightfully so- the fact of the matter was that sombra was simply too handy to get rid of.

                    still, that didn’t mean they weren’t above hiding things from her, apparently. “ so rude. ” the hacker couldn’t help but comment, shaking her head at the sight of the folder. “ and i thought we were all friends here. “ she didn’t seem particularly surprised, however- if anything, sombra seemed more pleased. it was her business to know things, after all. unearthing information she wasn’t supposed to know had practically become something of an addiction.

                    although she was eager to dive into just what it was talon thought necessary to hide from her, there was something else that managed to catch the hacker’s attention.

                    “ i have plenty of questions. “ she began, shooting him a surprisingly bright smile. “ but i think the one i’m the most eager to know your answer to is what you need my help with in the first place. “

                    “ the void? “ she turned to look at him quizzically. out of all of the explanations the hacker had been expecting to hear, that certainly wasn’t one of them. “ you mean that metaphorically, right? i wasn’t aware the void was something people could just fall into. “ her tone was joking, though that didn’t stop it from implying her question- what was he talking about? she was having a conversation with a living skeleton, after all; sombra was more than willing to keep an open mind. especially if it involved something that had the ability to interfere with technology.

                    if he hadn’t mentioned the drinks, it was more than likely the hacker would have forgotten about them completely. “ oh. right. “ the words came out slowly, an eyebrow raised. “ those are very important, hmm? “

                    as much as i want to stay, i really need to consider heading off because i have work in the morning. i ended up with a schedule similar to last week, so for the next couple days i unfortunately won’t be able to get online until the evening.
