“It is Monday in Brooklyn and I am watching the sun pour through the clouds to melt the snow that fell softly this weekend. It is the first day of Pisces season. My season. I am yearning for the spring. To see change and witness growth. To watch flowers and green bloom in my front yard garden and drink orange wine while I plant new things and tend to the baby cherry blossom that we planted last summer. I have so much on my mind after a whirlwind of a week. A week filled with immense pain, joy, grief and gratitude.
Yes, these things can all exist at one time. I was recently diagnosed with stage four endometriosis and informed that I was misdiagnosed with IBS. It has been a very long road paved with medical racism and gaslighting, homophobia, misdiagnosis, and capitalism. My story is unfortunately not unique.”

what I learned today: metabolic safety is a way of creating internal safety in the body through food choices that provide bioavailable nutrients while being sensitive to your individual body’s needs and requirements. These are nutrient dense proteins, fats, and carbs that are easily digestible and come from plants and animals (not beans or nuts or seeds or processed foods). You can calm depression, anxiety, and a host of other ailments by providing metabolic safety for the body. Many folks suffer illness simply because they are not experiencing metabolic safety (which puts the body in a state of survival, causes you to run off of stress hormones, and in this continuous state of deprivation, your body never has the opportunity to rest and repair). A list of reparative foods that may support you in creating metabolic safety for your body below from KymberMaulden.com

This [stand against the Oppressive Israeli regime] is the duty of every Muslim, every Christian, and every human being. You thought we were deceived by these man-made borders that were established? Our destiny is one, our goal is one, our battle [against injustice] is one. "Israel" is our enemy, too. Just like the butcher who takes one group of sheep for slaughter today, leaving the others to be happy and thank God they were not chosen—but their turn will come tomorrow. — Sayed Musa al-Sadr [quoted by Sayed Hasan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah]

listening to a conversation on soil and thinking about how black women in some southern states would eat & sell mud pies. I have an ancestral memory that one of the first things our ancestors did when they were bought to the americas was eat the soil. White folks thought they were crazy (“this is further evidence of savagery”) but eating the soil is a way of establishing a conversation between your body and the land. It’s a way to come home in a new environment. Now, there’s Science™️ that tells us eating healthy strains of soil diversifies the microbiome

No matter how many years you have spent ignoring your body, putting your body last, abusing or mistreating it, not eating well, not resting well, having bad sex with those lames, or being unkind in your thoughts about your body, always remember that your body is resilient. Do not secretly blame or shame yourself for your past actions and feel like all hope is lost. Never forgetting that your body is one of the most resilient, divinely-created forces in the whole entire universe is a core principle of self-regeneration and cellular repair. No regret or guilt about anything is essential.--India Ame'ye, Author

I also bought vitex today for progesterone/hormonal support. They only had pill form but I’m going to open the capsules and put them in a tea blend because herbs in tea form communicate with my heart better. Plants are relational beings, and I read that vitex likes 3 months of use before it begins to cocreate with the body
