Quote
If you constantly remember Allah, Allah will show you signs that He is remembering you - “So remember me, I shall remember you.” [2:152].

But whoever turns away from My reminder…
وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْ ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنْكًا وَنَحْشُرُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَعْمَى
But whoever turns away from My reminder, his will be a depressed life. (Quran 20:124)

I want to point this out properly, and this goes to both brothers and sisters. in sha Allah.
_____
Making/Getting a proposal or having proposed to a Muslim woman doesn’t require you to dig up her past. This has to stop.
I remember this story that happened during the time of ‘Umar Ibn Al Khattab Radiyallahu Anhu as the Leader of the Believers.
_____
One day a man came to 'Umar and said, “I had a daughter whom I buried alive during the pre-Islamic time, then we dug her up before she died.
She was made to know the meaning of Islam and accepted Islam, then she did something that deserves one of the legal punishments of Allah Azza Wa Jall.
She took a knife to kill herself, but we caught her wen she had cut some of her veins. We looked after her until she recovered, then she repented sincerely and now some people are proposing marriage to her.
Should I tell them what happened?
'Umar then answered the man, "Would you deliberately disclose that which Allah Azza Wa Jall has concealed? By Allah, if you tell anyone about her situation, I will make an example of you to the people of all regions. Marry her off as a chaste Muslim woman.”
_____
Yes, indeed, we see here that it was the father who sought advice from 'Umar, but nowadays, it is not the parents who ask about the women, it is both the groom and the family, and with just little mistake FROM HER PAST they decline her, it happens my dear brothers and sisters, and not only with sisters but also with brothers.
Astagfirullah.
Allah chooses and gives us what is best for us, always remember that, there is a reason why both souls have met and are to be enjoined with the halal knot of marriage.
Past is past, we all have to realize that everyone had a dark past that are left to be untold or disclosed other than to Allah Azza Wa Jall.
If you are looking for a great marriage and great meaning peaceful and happy then do not dig up the past [intentionally], if it is to be disclosed then Allah Azza Wa Jall will disclose it in His own ways.
So the best thing you could do right now, if you are bound to go on nikkah is to thank Allah Azza Wa Jall for making you able to marry before death overtakes you, as there are people who never had thhis chance.
Again, this is a reminder of the saying, every pious had a past and every sinner has a future.
_____
And may Allah Azza Wa Jall enlighten our hearts on finding good in others rather than digging up and watching their move as if dogs waiting for one mistake of theirs so we could bark the loudest bark. Amin.
Zohayma _____
Story was taken from Mahdus Sawaab, 2/709; isnaad is sound.

•✦.¤.✦• { dua’a of the day } •✦.¤.✦•
Many of us go through that phase in our Imaan where we feel down, feel Allah does not Love us or we have lost that connection with Him.
Either we keep screwing things up, or feel burdened by our sins or feel our deeds are not good enough to be accepted by Allah, Most Gracious.
But the fact of the matter is, we have to hold on and hope in the Mercy of Allah, no matter how bad we may be. As Allah says:
“O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as it.”
[At-Tirmidhi (also by Ahmad ibn Hanbal)]
Do not despair in the Mercy & Love of Allah and try to do the best you can. Keep fighting the good fight and do not let shaytaan entrap you into further despair.
This feeling down & losing that connection with Allah, is also a test from Allah to see how much we, as His servants pine for Him, miss His presence and strive to earn His love & pleasure.
