anyone in or near nyc: the gaza solidarity encampment is in desperate need of support as columbia university president minouche shafik intends to have the camp swept (again) at midnight if an agreement cannot be reached with organizers. the escalation against activists has been ongoing all week long.

i have been in touch with students (who wish to remain anonymous for their own safety) and following others participating in the encampment and your support at this moment is absolutely crucial if you can spare it.

**i’ve seen various mentions of the national guard being dispatched but as of several hours ago ny governor kathy hochul said she had no plans to allow for it. this, however, does not keep the encampment safe from violence at the hands of the NYPD.

I feel like a broken record for repeating the notion that transgender women are often times the targets of vicious harassment campaigns, and then are subsequently put into “callout posts” by people who have blatantly and shamelessly displayed transmisogynistic behavior in the past AND present. But somehow when the hundredth one comes around everyone’s like “okay but maybe THIS TIME-”

How many trans women are gonna be mobbed out of Tumblr before y’all realize the people creating these callout posts don’t actually have your safety and wellbeing in mind, rather they THRIVE off of hostility and “discourse”, and use your preconceived biases against transgender women as a means to get their dopamine hits.

I posted about Palestine on social media for years with zero interaction. No one wanted to talk about it and it has always seemed too far removed for americans to give a shit about.

So again I just want to remind people, it's never been like this before (in the us). This movement has always been here, but they can no longer bury it.

The fact that protests and boycotts have been sustained for going-on 6months, that's not nothing. This should be evidence to you that we can sustain the momentum, we must, and use this momentum for radical changes within ourselves, our habits, and our education.

We have the rest of the world to catch up with.
