Today I saw someone describing occult magic as "half performance and half actual magic" and that's the funniest description I've ever read. Basically half of the tradition is dark, obscure magic and the other half is bullshitting reality
I was looking for mangas about "fantasy" and "comedy" and the cover art looked different from other mangas, so I started to read it to see if it was good/different from generic fantasy, and I got lucky :D
Hey, I decided to try to build Laios (Dungeon Meshi) in pathfinder 2e, explaining my choices and illustrating the process with a bunch of doodles. I divided it in 3 parts and posted it on reddit. So, if you like rpgs and dungeon meshi it could be cool to take a look on it:
Part 1 - Level 1
Part 2 - Level 2 to 6
Final - Level 7 to 10 and gear
I also posted a lot of the drawings in my art sideblog, if you are interested in the fanart but not in pathfinder I recommend checking it out:
Honestly, the funniest thing to me is NormalGuy™ Shuro
What I really love about the Daydream Hour art is that it really shows that the characters in Dungeon Meshi aren’t just characters in a story, but they’re Ryoko Kui’s ocs. And sure maybe this is a perk that’s granted to mangakas that release on a monthly schedule opposed to weekly IDK but there’s just some about getting to see different interpretations of the characters and peeks into what she draws in her free time outside the story.
Like look Marcille likes to dance
And here’s the characters in Halloween costumes
Taking Covid precautions
And like I just love how casually she draws and depicts the characters in her personal work. There’s something for quite literally all the characters and like I said maybe other mangakas don’t have or can’t find the time to do so or choose to not release their personal work like she does but I think these pieces just make the characters feel more alive. Like she’s an oc artist through and through lol
According to people on reddit, Brazilian Thistle sounds very scary and very gay
Something interesting: In the Brazilian dub Mickbell and Thistle (the mad mage) have pretty masculine voices
I was watching it with a friend, waiting to see if he would think these 2 characters were women (like many manga readers do), but the dub made it clear they were men right away. Honestly, I was caught by surprise
This is a clip of Mickbell ranting about Chilchuck in portuguese and Thistle saying that everything in the dungeon belongs to king Delgal (and calling Laios a damned little thief)

I'm kinda happy that they put this in, because I always kinda wandered how did the walking mushrooms actually, like, attacked lol
we see a couple of the big ones fighting in the manga but the little ones like this little dude are always chasing or being chased, I was wandering if they could bite you or were poisonous to the touch or what
Something I think would be cool is to take some kind of animation that is fucked up from the beginning to end, everybody you like from it fucking dies and then, at the very end, just show the characters acting like they were just actors and make them talk about how it was working on that show from behind the scenes.
Like, straight up show the big villain being just a little guy talking with the protagonist about the scene where they die.
It would completely break the immersion, but I think it would be interesting to see.
