more Shay and Paz because um, yeahg
another dreary evening with the promise of rain lingering in the air, mixing with the scent of the few coffee shops and restaurants that speckled the block here and there. Shay had gone out shopping alone this evening, promising themself they'd be back home before it started to rain, but it seems like the weather and line for checkout had conspired against them.
growing slightly restless, they tapped their foot against the linoleum tile, waiting for the cashier to finish with the customer ahead of them.
and then finally it was their turn.
they hadn't gotten much, just a few things they'd been out of, plus a couple snacks and drinks of course.
after their shopping was done, they started towards home, opening a drink as they left the store.
the sky was dark from the oncoming storm, making them feel a sense of dread. they hated the rain.
they hurried their step as they felt the wind begin to pick up, their heavy bags slowing them a bit with their contents.
why didn't they just wait until Paz was home? they only would have just been heading put by now and...
the distant rumble of thunder made them freeze in their tracks, breath hitching from the sudden noise.
they could feel their pulse quicken, thrumming in their ears like the steps of a giant.
an image suddenly overtook their minds eye, displaying a godlike being towering above them, bringing the storm with it like a cloudy shroud of darkness.
they looked around and found nothing, but still, the mental image lingered.
it's nothing, just keep going. they tried to urge themself forward, wanting to get home before it started raining too heavily.
before long, they found themself hurrying towards their apartment building, the storm right at their heels, trying to bring them along into the wind and rain soaked streets.
they were thoroughly exhausted and cold, drenched from the rain outside.
and they had noticed that the drink they'd had earlier was starting to put a bit of pressure on their bladder now.
they tried to take comfort in the fact they were home now, but that was hardly the case when they still had a whole three flights of steps to get up, due to the elevator still needing maintenance.
"Shay Shay~" a familiar voice cooed from near the stairwell door
"oh Paz! hey Hun, did you just get off work?"
"a bit ago, yeah, I've been waiting for you! do you need help with those bags?"
Shay gave a small chuckle and nodded
"you forgot your key in the house didn't you hun?"
Paz looked away, embarrassed, but also nodded as he took the bags.
"I was in a rush because I thought I overslept and-" he started,
"no worries hun, I got mine, so we don't gotta call the landlady or the locksmith again"
Paz breathed an audible sigh of relief, which earned him another chuckle from Shay in response
the two of them began walking up the stairs together, chatting about their day
then a sudden crack of thunder nearby made Shay freeze mid-step, nearly causing them to lose their balance. they loud out a strained whine as they felt themself begin to shake.
Paz quickly put a hand behind their back to steady them, whispering encouragements to help comfort them
they suddenly became hyper aware of a strange warmth creeping down their thighs, and looking down, they could see the stain spreading as their bladder involuntarily released
they whimpered and tried to clench their thighs together as hard as possible, but this sudden position shift was made difficult by the stairs
Paz carefully guided them to the nearest platform and held them as they shook and whimpered desperately
another loud clap of thunder caused them to cry out and burry themself in Paz's arms, the puddle under them growing larger
"shhh shh that's alright, I got you, it's okay" he mumbled as he stroked their hair
"here, cmon, I'll carry you up the remaining stairs alright? will that be okay?" he asked softly
they nodded, teary eyes downcast in shame
he gave them a countdown as a heads-up before lifting them, feeling his arm grow a little warmer as he did so. he didn't mention this, not wanting to embarrass them further
as he carried them, they tried really hard not to squirm, apparently still needing to pee
he hummed softly to them as he carried them to their shared apartment, the rain now growing distant as the storm began to pass
Shay could feel their eyes growing heavy as tiredness tugged at them, but they knew their bladder would once again betray them if they gave in to sleep
Paz's humming was so comforting though, and the motion of his steps was so rhythmic and gentle
suddenly they found themself laying on the couch, a little dizzy and disoriented.
Paz peaked his head around the corner to check on them, and saw they were awake
"Heya hun, how're you feeling?" he asked softly
"bleh" they groaned
"yeah, I'm sorry, I promise next time I'll just pick up the groceries on my way home, that way you don't gotta, alright?"
"mhm" they looked away, face flushed red with embarrassment
"oh and don't worry, I've hot laundry covered too" he chuckled
they covered their face, groaning. they were never gonna live this down were they?
