Liv Slaughter is a Non-binary,Black and Jewish photographer and digital artist whose work focuses on re-imagining what the future of black history looks like. Using color, composition and perspective to challenge the way the world sees people of color, their subjects exist in a world of their own.
Liv’s main goal is to give communities of color their own space to create and curate their own history. Working with subjects to see how they want to be perceived instead of telling the subjects who they are, creates a feeling of family while shooting. Continuously pushing the relationship to create art that is timeless, but reflective of where the subject is in life, at that moment. Documenting Boston artists from 2011 to current, Liv has amassed a giant catalog of artists of all mediums that cultivate the culture and feeling of the art that makes Boston so great. They hope to continue to create work that will inspire the people around them.
