my adhd lifehack that's worked really well on me is always always always do the dishes as soon as possible. that includes drying them and putting them away. if I just wash them and leave them out to dry then that's actually two tasks now but the little checklist in my brain thinks it's only one and I already did it. if I put them in the dishwasher that's also still two tasks.
my roommate has a problem where she will leave her dishes in the sink and they will pile and pile for 3+ weeks and like. my adhd is BAD. my room got messiest it'd been in 2020 during the pandemic and didn't get cleaned until I moved out in 2022. so I get it. but leaving a problem for later definitely makes it harder to deal with.
it's often recommend in adhd circles to make bullet lists that break things downs into smaller, bite-size chunks, and while that works for some things, the unending recurring sisyphus chores (dishes, laundry, dusting, cleaning bathroom, etc) might be better off NOT splitting them up so you don't accidentally trick yourself into thinking you finished the whole task
made a flag for my very underrated group “gay dumbasses” aka “the ones who confuse the german flag for a pride flag and can’t for the life of them remember what flag is what”
