Then the heart of Éowyn changed, or else at last she understood it. And suddenly her winter passed, and the sun shone on her.

ok so clearly we need fic where les amis eat anti-monarchy gingerbread cookies:
Charles X as a priest became standard fare after 1825; this image was evoked in songs and featured in caricatures and seditious placards. Its most unusual form appeared in Metz in April of 1827, when, as a result of a particularly irreverent seditious act, a baker and his apprentices were brought up on charges of baking and selling gingerbread cookies in the form of Charles X’s head, wearing what appeared to be a priest’s cap, or calotte, and clearly marked “Charles X” on the bottom. The cookies themselves, as well as the mold by which they were made, were seized by the local police.

Pierre Carrier-Belleuse – Pierrot and Ballerina (1900)
In 1888, the Cercle Funambulesque was founded in Paris, producing pantomimes inspired by the Italian commedia dell'arte. Due to their influence, the most popular among its characters became Pierrot, who would commonly get portrayed not only by male, but also by female actors, such as Félicia Mallet and even the famous Sarah Bernhardt. Carrier-Belleuse's painting depicts one such version of Pierrot, portrayed by the unknown female mime.

I’m watching Marie Antoinette (2022) and it’s awful but still fun in a cringy soap opera way.
Also all the cringe was worth it for the slow-motion shot of the king’s physician running dramatically to a passed-out Louis XV, clutching a big jar of leeches
