No one is discrediting the student protests. I myself am a student who is partaking in largely student-coordinated protests, drives, campaigns… but I also understand that we are largely missing the point if coverage of these protests overshadows what they are actually protesting for—the atrocities committed on Palestinians every single day. As the western buzz around this genocide gets more and more coverage, the coverage of the genocide itself sharply declines. It’s true and I see it every single day. Things are not being reported with the precision and diligence with which they should be.
You have options. I promise you, you have options. Even if you blow up your whole life, change your name and train hop half way across the country- you still have options. So long as you are alive you have choices and chances. If you can’t see them, ask someone else. Ask a stranger or someone who loves you. Anyone not in your situation will have different a perspective. Stay safe and stay alive.
my roommate's been having a ROUGH time with her calculus class and the horrible professor that teaches it so i was cooking some comfort carbs for her in the hall kitchen when she sees a guy in a batman costume for 0.5 seconds on the 2nd floor balcony above us. totally shocked her out of the bad mood for a minute. later on as she's eating i ask her if she's feeling better and she just sniffles and takes a bite of her buttermilk biscuit and in the saddest, most trembling voice she mumbles "i want batman to come back :("
