I hate how every app is moving to a dark mode and pushing it on people because fuck no. I appreciate offering the option depending on what people prefer but all the words hit me over the head and dance about on dark mode so it’s not very helpful for me

honestly a good adaptation of discworld would do wonders for the visual comedy already present in the books like imagine carrot's intro. we focus on his face as his father tells him he's not actually a dwarf. they're both facing each other. camera is focusing on their faces. the big reveal comes. heartbreaking music plays as carrot blinks away tears. "im not a dwarf?" he asks, his voice breaking. "but-" we pan out and carrot is 6 foot something, bent over even while sitting and mr. ironfoundersson barely fucking comes up to his waist as he reaches out and pats his knee 💔

What part of six-year-olds having periods being bad would you like me to start with? The strain it puts on their young bodies, or the way it singles them out among their peers, or the way they’re more likely to try to act older because their bodies look more mature (leading to issues around things like sexual, alcohol or smoking at a young age)? Or fertility issues later on in life because people only have a certain number of eggs and if they begin earlier they will usually reach menopause earlier also? Or the way they don’t really get to have a childhood because they’re experiencing both physical and emotional effects of puberty well before a time that is considered normal? Their friends are out playing and they are having debilitating cramps and mood swings they can’t manage? I read an article about girls going through precocious puberty when I was 11 and I still think about it, over a decade on. Something that stops them having to go through that pain is good in my opinion.

…you do realise the ONLY people puberty blockers have any affect on are those at the age for puberty, i.e. children? And that puberty blockers were designed with children in mind since, you know, that’s the actual purpose of them? (Obviously they were originally used to halt precocious puberty but it was found that they could also be used to help gender-questioning children have more time to figure out what they want. They do not stop puberty entirely they just pause it temporarily.)
