Went to the dentist for a checkup for the first time in just under twenty years.
All teeth a-okay.
Partner scandalised; he has gone to the dentist every year for all those almost-twenty years.

Got to the nice easy stage of bike fixing: the remaining parts arrived in the post.
This new front brake switch (the grey plastic thing in this first pic) is an exact match for the old piece and just slotted on, which is unheard of for anything on these strange obscure bikes.
Worked immediately.
After some fucking about with an old three-cable speedometer sensor we had lying around, it became apparent that the signal it was sending just didn't translate into whatever my dash needed. Turns out some bikes need an off signal when the magnet passes the sensor and some need an on.
With this in mind, I ordered a replacement part from Germany and spliced it in, then forgot to take any pictures because the bike started first kick so I tore off up the field to test the speedo. It's running incredibly well! And the new sensor works!
Anyway in the middle of this my kickstand fell off again. I had a better look at the parts in daylight and discovered the bracket was bent to hell and the thread on both bolts was ruined. Found a replacement bolt of the right size and depth and used some cutter compound to help rethread the carrier.
This all went brilliantly until I had to stretch the spring far enough to reseat it. Thank science for this extremely basic yet extremely effective spring-puller.
Aaaand that's the spring clean-up complete! Just gotta book the MOT and get riding. 😌
