Despite how he acts towards people, he does care. He just doesn't know how to show it. Especially towards those he's drawn to. Whether it be relationships or friendships.

Finally mentally resolving his internal conflict, the seated figure stood up and left his room. He wasn't going to allow something minor like this ruin his relationship with the priest. Seeing the other standing in the same spot, the scribe approached only to wrap his arms around the brunette.

Tightening his grip slightly, his partly covered face found itself resting against his shoulder. "I'm sorry. Exhaustion was not the real reasoning behind my answer." Exhaling softly, teal orbs closed as he continued. "The real reason is that I wanted to kiss you. But I feared that something more would happen if I had."

             The   moment   Alhaitham   pried   himself   away   from   him   was   the   moment   his   heart   sank.   A   dull   pain   followed   ,   but   he   quickly   brushed   it   off   &   a   small   smile   painted   itself   on   his   lips.   It   seemed   like   he   had   made   the   other   uncomfortable   with   his   antics.

❛   Of   course.   Please   ,   rest   well. ❜ Once   the   Scribe   had   gone   off   to   his   room   ,   Priest   of   Mondstadt   could   only   look   down   at   his   hands   with   a   solemn expression.   Perhaps   ,   in   reality   ,   they   weren't   as   close   as   he   had   initially   thought   they   were.
