regency era verse bio, daenerys targaryen
daenerys comes from old money, her family a prominent and persistent fixture in their community. their home, the valyrian estate, had been in her family for generations. it was lavishly decorated with intricate dragons carved into its columns, representing their family sigil. while her father, aerys targaryen, was not a successful man himself, they lived a comfortably materialistic lifestyle. dany was the youngest of three born to aerys and rhaella targaryen, and their only daughter. her parents had a loveless marriage, dany had always known it to be true. her mother tried to cover it ââ to hide that reality from her children ââ but there was only so much she could do. tensions were often high in their house and the children could feel it, all the same.
aerys targaryen, and subsequently the targaryen family, were not well-received by their neighbors. his cruelty was regularly gossiped about by ladies over tea, claiming even the targaryenâs wealth and beauty were not enough to win their favor. mr. targaryen did not see issue with their place in society: by his standards, no lady in town was good enough a match for his son viserys, and he would rather daenerys die an old maid than marry below her familyâs status. their neighbors obvious dislike did little to change him, though it always bothered mrs. targaryen. she was much the opposite of her husband: kind, well-spoken, and polished in her mannerisms. her reputation, though, was so heavily tied to aerys that it was seldom she was invited to any events. she had no support besides that of her children, leaving her deeply depressed. dany gravitated towards her mother all her life, but never felt enough to make her happy.
daenerysâ eldest brother, rhaegar, had married and moved out years prior, leaving viserys and herself behind at the valyrian estate. daenerys tries to visit rhaegar and his wife elia often, as rhaegar was always her favorite brother.

Can you imagine how fucking wild ladies must have gone for the rejection in pride and prejudice right after it was first published. This guyâs making ten thousand a year and her family is expecting her to find accommodation for herself sooner rather than later and STILL Lizzie is like âno. No. True love only. And also while Iâve got you here please accept my invitation to fuck off.â I wouldâve lost my damn gourd, I wouldâve gone bonkers. And group chats didnât exist so youâd just have to hope your friends were as far into the book as you so you could meet at the village green to throw a fucking riot

MR. DARCY
He is NEARLY CERTAIN she is not smiling because of him; however, it prompts his own lips to twitch â what a feat! Miss Elizabeth Bennet, how you DAZZLE! Both parties cast their gazes elsewhere when the joy is displayed, as if EMBARRASSED by it. â I remember, Miss Bennet. PRIOR to her marriage she was known as Miss Lucas, was she not? â For he is ever aware of every word she breathes! How QUAINT that he hangs on her every speech with baited breath! Darce, old boy, you are RIDICULOUS! â Ah. â Sharp, awkward nod. â Are youâŚhaving a PLEASANT trip? â
âYes, she was Miss Lucas,â Elizabeth promptly answered, almost longing for the days when her friend was not confined by her most ridiculous cousin. There was plenty of reasons that Elizabeth herself had refused him ââ and she just could not fathom Charlotteâs HAPPINESS in such a obligatory marriage to Mr. Collins. âI am, thank you,â she responded, notes coming to a close in the piece she played. âHowever, had I known that we would be dining with Her Fellowship, I would have brought something more appropriate to wear for the occasion.â

MR. DARCYÂ
The TRUTH of it is that he notices her faults, understands them to SOME degree, and yet respects her all the more for them. His ADORATION is true and thorough for how he sees her in all her glory â PROUD and prejudiced and sharp-tongued and LOVELIER for how she glowers at him. Here, she does not appear to hold her USUAL distaste for his company and so he finds himself RELAXING, even if only a little. â Lady Catherine is my aunt. I am a GUEST here. â
Such PRETENSION ââ Such arrogance and PRIDE lay with his relations! Lizzy wasnât at all surprised in Mr. Darcyâs behavior now after meeting Lady Catherine. Her exaggerated vanity made Darcy look almost HUMBLE. Quite funny! the thought that Darcy could be humble made Lizzy smile, eyes trailing back to the ivory keys as she played. âAh, yes. Mr. Collins has made me quite aware that her Ladyship is your aunt. He is most grateful for her patronage.â A pause ââ âMrs. Collins is a dear friend of mine and has invited me to stay with her and Mr. Collins for the remainder of the week.â She anxiously wanted to ask of his plans, but decided against doing so and instead shifted her focus to the music she played.
