( @ofdevastationâ ) FRANK CASTLE & DAISY JOHNSON
âhey,â frank was leaning against the counter of her apartment, a cup of coffee heâd let grow cold two hours earlier in his hand. he didnât mean to get up so early, but he never slept well anyway. âwant breakfast?â he asked, tilting his head and offering a smile, moving to set the coffee down and to walk towards her - one arm snaking around her torso and pulling her in. âi hope you slept well, i know i toss and turn a lot...â he knew he should address their feelings, what they both seemed to realize from the day before - but frank was in territory he hadnât been in for a long time. âyou good?â

rogue was impressed by natashaâs presence. she was so formal and firm. â iâm rogue.â she said confused for some reason. â iâm looking around but iâd love to take a tour.â she told her with a genuine smile.
-
ârogue,â natasha repeated, offering a serene smile, there was an interest sense of whatever was happening there but rogueâs acceptance of wanting a tour made natasha far more curious. âokay, a tour it is. what would you like to see first? a fight first-hand or some of the backstage mechanics?â

( @latverionstartersâ ) ROCKET RACCOON & ANYONE !
sure, heâd been observing them for awhile while being nestled up behind a few cargo boxes and pretending to read a file on astrophysics. was it a crime to follow people and observe whatever it was that they was doing? he didnât think so. groot was back on the guardianâs ship so that meant that whatever he was doing was going to be well-spent. that and the person who he was following had what looked like something shiny. before he could slink off and find another angle, however, rocketâs foot slipped and he ended up tripping and spilling out from the cargo - his entire form and the article splayed out onto the ground with him looking up into the face of the person he was following. âuh...â he paused and then pulled a full-toothed smile, âi was just admirinâ the boxes? what? you canât prove anything - how much for the shiny thing?â

"welcome to the killiseum, i donât think iâve seen you around before, at least not near this section,â natasha smiled and spoke calmly, openly - as she looked around the prep rooms - or green rooms, given she believed this was mostly just deadly theater. âhave you come for a tour? or just looking around?â she asked, wondering if the other had come because of rad - and she attempted to sus it out. âforgive me for not introducing myself, natasha romanoff, i... well you can say i run a lot behind the scenes here, but my official title is battle coordinator.â she smiled again, still trying to figure rogue out.

"never seen you around these parts before,â val spoke up, sitting up as madelyne walked into friggaâs. sheâd been sat at her favorite seat at the bar and had been boldly deciding that today was the day to see where her limits of holding mead would be. she hadnât found it yet. nor did she feel it. to be a god, or god-adjacent, she supposed. holding up her drink, she invited the other to join her at the bar. âthorâs gone around back, i believe to get some more restocks but i can help you .â she offered, raising a brow and turning to lean over the bar to count what thor had out and open. âplenty of drinks, yeah.â

( @illyanarxsputinaâ ) ROCKET RACCOON & ILLYANA RASPUTINA
âyou look like someone that i could employ often,â rocket spoke up, looking up at the blonde with a toothy grin. groot leaned forward and ushered a soft âi am grootâ before giving illyana a smile and a nod and backing up - making rocket sigh and roll his eyes. âokay i guess itâs weird to say it like that, sorry. what i meant is, you look like you can handle yourself in the middle of literally anything and i would very much like to hire you for jobs i run sometimes in places like the roxxon mines.â he elaborated, giving a shrug of his shoulders. rocket was a very fair boss, or at least he believed he was - so he really didnât see what the problem could be.

reed knew who steve was - in truth, youâd be a fool who lived under rocks to not know the original captain america. but it was still quite nice to come across him in the bustling district of the kingdom of manhattan. âwelcome to latverion, iâd say if i actually believed the planet was deserving of such a cheerful introduction. or its leader, but in truth - it doesnât and victor does not need to additional ego boost for anything.â reed flashed a quick smile before settling back. âi heard youâd made it here, and i do believe most of the rest of the avengers? thatâs good, we could use you.â

rocketâs nose itched and he soon let out a loud and uncontrolled sneeze, wiping his snout with the back of his paw as he looked around for somewhere to wipe his arm off. with a shrug, he reached over and wiped it against the wall before pausing when he felt eyes on him. eyes that werenât grootâs. âwhat?â he nearly barked, throwing his arms out to the side before pointing up at the starer. âyou donât sneeze? something got into my nose okay? mind ya business.â rocketâs ear twitched as he watched the person - only to sneeze again. âoh buddy i think iâm allergic to you, what are you?â

( @gloriannnnaâ ) LAYLA EL-FAOULY & MEGGAN PUCEANU
layla had decided to take some time to recover from... everything that had gone on recently around latverion. whether it was caused by doom or not - it was chaotic and dangerous and something she wholly condemned. too many people had been thrust into danger unwillingly and she was angry about it. sniffing, layla wiped at her face as she pulled her shawl closer around her - the view from the lighthouse in arcadia was spectacular - and though she wasnât alone - she had largely kept to herself. that was until someone came up beside her. âsorry, i must look a mess - itâs... a beautiful view, isnât it?â she asked, pushing a smile through as she turned to face her welcome companion. âdo you come here often?â

âso youâve heard about rad?â she asked casually setting aside her files and picking up her coffee, leveling her gaze at ben as he sat opposite her. she knew her little side project that she had been carefully nurturing was becoming bigger than she could have imagined - and it was nice to see the resistance growing more and more - and all while completely under doomâs nose. âiâd love to recruit you and your team, after all the fantastic four knows the emperor best, do they not?â she knew the answer already, but wanted to hear him confirm it. âwhat do you say, ben grimm? care to join in the resistance or would you like to take a subtler approach?â

âwow, hey bruce.â itâd been awhile since sheâd seen him, but it was nice. natasha had just finished working on the paperwork for the repairs on the killiseum since the m.o.d.o.k. of it all when her office door had opened and bruce stepped through. âi hope you werenât standing outside and waiting or debating if you should come in,â she raised a brow, a teasing nature in her tone as she smiled. it felt like ages since the team had all been together in one area - far too long - and avoiding the parts where any of them died, well... itâs nice that some variant form of them were here. âclintâs around here too if you wanted to see him, but i suspect youâre here to talk to me about something - whatâs up?â

âyou lost me at you fly through space. or did.â frank interrupted, holding up a hand to almost beg peter to take a moment and not talk. sure, by now it was reasonable to assume that frank had finally managed to wrap his head around things, that he wasnât actively fighting against the very real fact that time, space, and magic were real. but he was an old dog who hated new tricks. still, peter was entertaining in regards of keeping frank from focusing too much on any one thing. âso the talking raccoon with a obsession with blowing shit up, heâs your pet?â he asked, kinda figuring rocket belonged to no one but it seemed like if he listened to anyone it was peter quill. âwhatâs space like?â

cxptbritainâ:
Betsyâs smile was more than dangerous, it was appreciative of hearing how Frank truly felt, spy tech or not. It was a refreshing attitude to have, being stuck in a place like this and not caring that Doom had declared himself supposed ârulerâ over it all.
âI couldnât bring myself to separate you from that beloved crowbar. From the looks of it, the two of you have been to hell and back and it looks much better in your hands than mine. But your message shall be delivered. Verbatim.â The danger in her smile left and grew a little wider.
âThere are also more productive ways of being a nuisance, Iâm sure. Many of them not including vandalism. I have it on good authority that there is a shipment of goods being sent directly to hisâŚcastle,â she said with some amount of disgust. â⌠while others around here are struggling to keep themselves fed, dressed, and in good spirits. Doom has more than enough if some of those were to go missing.â
he knew that smile - something like looking into a mirror - he understood it. he smirked in return, looking down at the crowbar in his hand and twirling it - taking in all its dents and scrapes before looking back to meet her gaze. âyou make a good point, sheriff.â he responded, a chuckle at the end of his words.
âbut i appreciate it, i really do - i just hope you donât get caught in the wrath of it.â he paused and considered it. âyâknow, like killing the messenger. i wouldnât feel right about that.â he knew there was good reason to consider that theory becoming a reality. doom was unpredictable and a hell of a bastard.
but he listened to her words, carefully so. slowly, a smile formed at his lips. âthatâs good to know, thatâs ah... real good to know.â he understood. he was going to intercept this shipment and find a way to spread it out to those that actually needed it. âi guess itâs time the bastard become a little more charitable.â

he hadnât even made it fully through the doorway before he could tell she had something on her mind. before he could see her face, he could see it in her body language and the way she was completely enraptured in whatever it was. a new discovery, of course. heâs paying more attention to her though, than the object in her hands - finding the look on her face when she was excited and passionate about something to be wholly more worthwhile. still, when she asked his opinion, marc let his attention shift to her hands and let out a hum. âwhat do i think? layla, baby, i think it looks like a rock with some marks on it.â he conceded with a quiet laugh. for being the avatar to an egyptian god, marc wasnât actually too knowledgeable about it all. khonsu chose him for his fists, not his brains. ânot nearly as exciting, but i brought food.â he held up the bag of food heâd picked up on his way home with one hand, before offering the milkshake in his other hand to her.
he could feel steven pushing, though. clearly, he had more opinions on laylaâs discovery than marc could offer and he knew he should let them share what they were passionate about. âhold on - iâll, uh, be right back, alright? just donât let him throw out my burger.â and in a breath, his posture changed, steven being a little bit more lax in his shoulders and less sure of himself. he offered layla a quick smile. âhello,â his attention moved quickly to the stone and leaned in closer to observe it without touching. âdefinitely not from our earth, is it? itâs not - the writing there, bit different than what weâd see back home, donât you think? almost like itâs the same language but a different dialect. has taweret said what she thinks?â
she held her excitement in her face, a grin on her lips... until marc spoke. âoh-â a small form of deflation hit her and she dropped her shoulders, âi love you, my darling but i forget just how useless you can be at these things.â there was gentle teasing there as she leaned forward towards him, happy he was home and happy to give him outward affection. âeh? what do you mean not nearly as exciting? food is food, marc.â layla scoffed, setting the artifact down and moving to grab the milkshake. if there was one thing to make layla drop a discovery - it was food. well okay food and marc.
as she stuck the straw in and began to drink the shake, she watched with her brows raised as marc left and steven fronted, only nodding as a promise to not let steven throw out the burger. âsteven, hand me marcâs burger please.â she asked as innocent as she could. âhe said not to let you throw it out, but he never said i couldnât take a bite or two.â with a shrug of her shoulders she turned to face the piece sheâd collected with a smile. âalso, hello to you too.â bumping his shoulder playfully, she pressed a kiss to his temple. after a moment, she returned her attention to the artifact, slowly shaking her head. âno, it isnât. and unfortunately sheâs just as lost as we are - do you think khonsu may know anything or is he keeping secrets today?âÂ

gamora watches rocket as he moved past her. she canât help but laugh a little at his comment. â what was it peter called it? iâm being nosy, thatâs right. â she tries to deflect, hoping rocket would leave it but some part of her hoping he would keep pressing. at the mention of groot, it stills her and she leans against a piece of furniture.Â
â well i guess the last thing i remember is yonduâs funeral â then we went off into space again. some of itâs a little fuzzy though. â she shrugs a little.  â sometimes i feel like i remember more, but sometimes itâs less.  depends on the day. â
âare you though? i donât think you are, gamora. if anything itâs me being nosy.â he shrugged, watching her to see how sheâd react. gamora seemed lonely or lost, or maybe a bit of both - and rocket wanted to know why. âi just want to know if youâre okay or if you want me to go blow something up.â he spoke quietly, his ears shifting back as he tried to smile.
he listened intently to what she had to say, a sadness quickly overwhelming him at her words. she didnât know yet - and she shouldnât have to know. but it was no wonder to him why she was so confused about everything. âyeah, thereâs probably a really good reason for that actually. a lot happened and we saw a different version of yous in our future. itâs complicated and weird. i donât know if you want me to get into it.â

shicldedâ:
The door swung closed behind her as she walked into Natâs office, heels clicking on the tiled floor. A small laugh followed her friendsâ words, and she pulled a small bottle from her jacket pocket. âI actually had some free time and couldnât think of anyone else Iâd like to share this with,â she teased, carefully sliding into the chair across from her friend. A snort followed the mention of Clint, and she raised a brow at her friend. âFrom the way Iâve heard you talk about him, Iâd be shocked if Clint Barton said one bad word about you.â A soft grin followed the words as she set the bottle down, and shook her head. âNo, Iâm actually here to ask your advice. Or, rather, talk to you. About the so-mentioned resistance.â
-
a smile of knowing relief hit her lips the moment she saw the bottle of alcohol being produced. âwe know each other too well,â she complimented, moving over to a cabinet and pulling out two glasses - placing them onto her desk. âas always peggy, iâm happy to see you and any time you want to drop in, iâm here.â and natasha meant it. truthfully, she never really went anywhere else - but also she enjoyed peggyâs company. âhe wouldnât dare say anything against me - just... in concern for me. heâs a good guy.â she shrugged, easing it off as she took the bottle from the desk and poured out two drinks for them. âoh? iâm here to answer any questions you might have - so fire away. my office is a dead zone so no need for code talking.â

illyanarxsputinaâ:
Illyana thought about Limbo. About how half its inhabitants no longer seemed to look at her as though sheâd been ruling for years and how she couldnât seem to find her way around like she once could. Thereâd been a moment, when everything was still coming together, when it was hard to focus on anything that wasnât simply finding her footing. It still felt very much like Illyana couldnât find solid ground.
Valkyrie was right. Sheâd spent so much of her time just trying to figure out how all the pieces were fitting together, and what the hell Victor Von Doom was doing at the head of it all, she hadnât stopped to think too hard about what made everything split in the first place. And maybe that was part of the point; if everyone was so focused on finding that little bit of solid ground, maybe they wouldnât stop to ask why it was shaking in the first place.
It was working, at least to an extent. Illyana spent half her time in the Killiseum or doing what she could for the burgeoning resistance, and the other half chasing rogue demons around their patchwork world, because sheâd had to start from the ground floor in so many parts of Limbo.
âIâd assumed some cosmic somebody got a wild hair up their ass, decided they wanted to have a little fun.â She thought of the Beyonder, and immediately shoved the thought back down again. Some people put the world on puppet strings because they could. Some people didnât care who got hurt along the way. âItâd take a great deal of power to destroy the multi-verse. You want vengeance, but we should probably figure if itâs something heâs capable of before we go charging at him.â
-
illyana had valid points - very valid points. val knew this and let out a soft hum in agreement - though she was still working through any of the processes or methods that might work if she chose to go head-forth and attack doom outright. but perhaps her rage needed to be tempered for now, to be carefully coaxed into burning cooler until the time was right. giving a nod, she finally broke from her memory-stricken trance and looked up to meet illyanaâs gaze.
âno, youâve made an excellent point.â she reasoned, leading into her next thought - her next point. âheâs powerful, yes - arrogant about it too. which can lead to his own downfall. â she knew she was on to something - though she couldnât quite pin it down yet. âwe need someone to openly challenge him, to find a way to get him to admit if heâs powerful enough. in truth, heâs probably bursting to tell someone.â she grinned, a sort of maniacal devious one.
âyou know anyone wild enough to try it?â sheâd do it herself, but she figured itâd be better to give others the chance first.
