THERE WAS ONLY ONE CHAIR because presumably, the queen doesn't understand Eric's fascination & servants keep away out of respect for him. So, there's no use having chairs around since nobody hangs out with him here. The implication that he must've felt alone for years until, well, her. They're twin souls. I'm gonna sob in the corner real quick.

This should not be applauded, but that mofo knelt on the floor afternoon 'till evening so she can sit (or not, she might be sitting on a box here) on the only comfortable seat in his library like a fucking gentleman.
A prince on his knees, literally and figuratively. gddamn it, disney.

You have a police force of sorts, even a marginally Secret Service. Why come to me? People do come to you for help, don’t they, Mr Holmes? Not, to date, anyone with a Navy.

Jane Austen's works are timeless classics because she knew the real horrors in life are having to listen to men who think they're better than you and receiving unannounced visitors.

Jane Austen was really out there 200 years ago writing lines like “If I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more” that to this day are still so swoon-worthy.

Okay so I caught (upon my first re-watch 😂 already at it again) what I *think* was a really good subtle inside-joke?
So the first time I watched episode 3, the line where Julian says “you’d be scared of a teddy bear if it talked…. No, wait, that actually is quite scary”. I laughed the first time just because that’s such a horror trope, the haunted doll/teddy bear/child’s toy and they’re obviously (in part) sending up that trope.
It wasn’t until I watched it a second time that I realized that having Julian *specifically* say that line was also probably meant to be a joke, since Simon wrote one of the most famous films ever, literally about a talking teddy bear (Paddington).
And now I actually can’t decide if I’m an idiot for missing that piece of the joke the first time I watched it, or whether that’s just a coincidence and the line was not a Paddington reference at all and I’m reading way too much into it? 😂
I’m any case, I thought that line worked really well on two levels.

Something I noticed that at the end, the outfits that Lily and Frank are wearing are the same ones that were on the magazine cover in Frank’s cabin
