learning that apparently several hundred people have been pronouncing 'miette' as 'mighty' has actively worsened my day

“oh no we need to practice for our fake dating” is the funniest trope to me cause like. there are so many people who force themselves into a shitty relationship they hate just because of amatonormatiivity that it’s an ingrained part of popular culture to joke about hating your partner.

which is to say, oh my god you dont need to hold hands and go on fake dates, you don’t even need to agree on a single detail of your cover story beforehand. you can literally stand 6 feet apart at all times and look profoundly uncomfortable and all anyone will think is “yikes™. not my problem”

i know that "unalive" is part of larger worrying trend of self censorship but if you really are in a situtation where you have to avoid the words "die" or "kill" the english language already has centuries worth of much better euphemisms. the iconic and perennial "six feet under"? the lovely imagery of "pushing up daisies"? "shuffle off this mortal coil"????? literally anything from the monty python dead parrot bit???? you have so many options. please try to be more creative at least

for the last day of lesbian visibility week, i wanted to share some updates of my queer regency webcomic, the masquerader! here's a character line-up with some costume designs of bella & prue.

the quick slug from my co-writer is "it's a regency lesbian love story between a woman who's cross-dressing after her life falls apart and a woman striking out on her own." and my contribution is: also there's murder and luddites!

we've been working hard on boarding it behind the scenes, and i'm hoping to have some pages out before san diego comic-con!!!
