semi-hiatus warning (12/2/15 - 12/19/15)
Hey hey! I know I haven’t been around,
but it’s basically because of college. I
have finals right around the corner &&
I’m swamped with term papers plus a
hell of a lot of studying. I’ll return when
I’m done with everything and I’m back
in the safety of my own home with no
more responsibilities for a month.
SEE YOU ALL WHEN I RETURN!

╳ — @excntrique wants to battle!
( This city was HUGE. )
Gary had heard rumors from people and of course he’d seen things
about Lumiose City. Even coming up on the city, he could see the
Prism Tower growing in the distance. The moment he stepped into
the city, he was immediately overwhelmed with the entire situation.
Shoot, how was he supposed to find the Professor here? Adjusting
the backpack on his shoulders, he sighed and started walking with
hardly a sense of direction in this place. After losing his old map,
maybe it was time to invest in a new one, huh?
It took a while, but he did eventually find his way and pushed his
way into Pokémon lab, completely embarrassed by the fact he
had initially went the completely opposite direction. “Hello, I’m
looking for Professor Sycamore? It’s Gary Oak --- Professor
Rowen’s assistant?” He called out to no one in particular. He was
no longer Rowen’s assistant, but it’s what he’d come to be known
as for the most part in his studies as a Pokémon Researcher.
WELL---besides the whole Professor Oak’s grandson thing.

“GYM LEADER!?” Gary looked more surprised than anything
else. “You’re not the gym leader!” Well, he knew there was
some weird stuff going on with ownership of that place, but it
wasn’t this weird look-alike’s gym. He knew that much. “Fan?”
His jaw dropped for a moment, pointing over at him. “I don’t
even know who you are! You’re the guy dressing up like
Professor Oak’s grandson! What kind of weird joke is THAT?”
He huffed, looking to his Umbreon as she confused looked
between the two with some obvious confusion. “Don’t YOU
start too, c’mere.” He raised her ball up, recalling her back.
– ✮ Green was training his own Umbreon, which quickly took interest in
the female. Wild evolved Pokemon in this area weren’t common at all,
especially an Umbreon, it probably belonged to a trainer. “What’s wrong?
Did you get separated from your…” His words trailed off as he saw the
trainer come into his line of sight. What was this? A guy that looked kinda
like him? As he got closer, Green’s jaw dropped. The guy was him, with
maybe a slightly different clothing choice.
– ✮ “The deal with me? What’s the deal with you? Walking around looking
exactly like the Viridian Gym Leader! Are you some kind of crazed fan or
something? The fuck is this supposed to be? It’s creepy as hell.”

“Noooope.”
Accentuating his point with a little ‘pop,’ he shrugged at her
overly dramatic response to this news. “Okay, I get it’s
supposed to be GOOD, but what’s so special about it?” He
sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “Fine, I’ll come get it
with you and try some. It better be worth this weather though.”
Gosh, it was just ICE CREAM.
“No, way!
I mean, it IS cold (much to her dislike), but never for Castelia Ice Cream.
Have you really not had it before?”
Utter blasphmey! It has to be one of the main things to ever try when you were in Unova & they were so lucky that they had this last day to get some! It far exceeds any frozen treat to be labeled JUST ice cream.
“It better than any ice cream outside this region. They always sell out real quick, not to mention its only opened on certain days! And today is the last…! You’ll see what I mean if you try some.”
If she’s going to venture out into the cold wasteland of the region willingly it’s going to be for this ice cream.

Gary pouted himself after seeing the food being chucked into the trash.
“Hey, thanks.” He sardonically chided. ( though his aim was IMPRESSIVE. )
He pursed his lips and stared at him, “Woof.” He knew this was no longer
the playful banter of their childhood --- no longer finding the joy in it or the
amusement in trying to get Ash riled up. He’d lost that thrill years ago and
it seemed it wouldn’t work anyway. He leaned away when Ash stood and
perked a brow at his temper. Well, they still had a long way to go together to
just get back to friendship as much as he wished they could go back to the
olden days of yore. Why did it all have to change? This isn’t the lil’ guy he’d
been waiting years to see again... this wasn’t the kid he’d cried over.
Baby steps.
“How about real tacos instead?”
this egg salad smelled something sour. that same pouting face twisted
something comical as he whipped the thing out of his sight and with
shocking accuracy into the pit of a nearby bin. and so the glaring resumed.
“ —— well, you always did have a thing for big dogs. “
a scoff more than anything else; absent minded throwaway remarks. the
thin enamel of his armour was composed of nothing but these days. the
days of his fortitude standing tall against his demons were dead and rotting
somewhere on one of his distant, darker days. there was always something
left looking hollow about him now —- something soulless in each sarcastic
snarl. he wasn’t fooling anyone.
rather abruptly, he stuffed his hands back into his jacket pockets and stood.
the surly look puling his features taut resembled that of a moody teenager.
“ can’t we just go get taco bell or something?
ain’t no one called the fun police on me today. hell no. “

“Said the absolute psycho who should seriously be tested for
congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis.” Gary had to
admit it was hard to say that without his teeth chattering. If the
sun had been out, this definitely would’ve been more bearable.
HOWEVER --- it was already dark thanks to daylight savings
time and he’d never been more upset for that fact. More like
grumpy actually. He watched Ash try to sock him in the arm,
feeling nothing but a little bump. He grunted, ears glowing
bright red with Dragonite’s breath coming out of his mouth
with every breathe he took. His hands were buried deep into
his pockets, refusing to come out to even try retaliating. With
a long sleeved shirt on underneath a vest and jacket, it was
pretty obvious how ill-favored the cold was by him
“C’mon, can we go back INSIDE already?”
“ why are you wearin’ all that? ain’t even cold out here man. “
hark the lunatic out in the snow in nothing but a tank top and his steely
(if not completely stupid) bravado. he won’t admit it, but when he jabs
the almost impenetrable surface layer of clothes gary’s wearing, the
rigid joints of his knuckles ache.
no pain, no gain, right?

“Interesting team.” His vague comment could’ve been taken in
a variety of directions though he was patting himself on that
back for expecting such a composition. They were hardly bad
Pokémon, but somewhat predictable even if he only had
remembered two of them from what he’d seen on TV. If his
memory served correctly --- Harley wasn’t lying about their
strength. He snorted in jest of the popularity comment, not
denying it, but finding his confidence humorous. “Yeah, that
rings a bell.” Brushing a hand through his hair, he figured they
should get the pleasantries out of the way. “I guess I shouldn’t
leave you in the dark then, huh?” He perked a brow, smirking a
tad, “I’m Gary Oak.”
“Yes, my other Pokémon! My Ariados, Banette,
Octillery and Wigglytuff! I must say they’re quite
as strong as my Cacturne.”
And he took pride in each and every one of them. Of course because of how he
had trained them, but also because they were his friends, and his company while
on the road. Though, as the other mentioned he might have seen him on the TV,
he smiled. Who wouldn’t have seen him on TV? Besides being an amazing
coordinator, he was quite a nice guy to look at as well.
“The name’s Harley, maybe it rings a bell now?
But I’ve been on TV quite a lot, so you might have
seen me. I’m quite popular, you know.”
