The Internet as we know it is dying.
It was created, then it was formatted into specific patterns of operations (such as websites and downloadable apps), and from then onward no maintainance or updating, which is to say further creation, on the fundamentals of what the Internet is have been done.
This Internet as we know it has also been turning more bitter, cold, apathetic, and isolated. People are feeling the effects of this tremendously. If the Internet continues on it's route (which it almost inevitably will. After all, no large internet-controlling-businessman is going to do anything to actually make a happier society at the expense of profit.
Another point to this ending of the Internet is that now we have digital systems which "think" in terms of identities as in "chair = sitting = person sitting = person = clothing = room chair is in = room = shelter". The way these systems do their "thinking" is that they can't differentiate between these things. They all mean the same thing, and your input-stimuli tells it which word to use for it. It's insane, and that isn't to scold these systems. They're marvelous tools for accessing data, but they are fundamentally insane, which therefore contributesto the insanity of the user.
What is however a massive downside to these systems however (and there are others, but this is of primary concern and has not been much talked about) in that uncensored versions of these exist which makes it tremendously easy and feasible to create vigorous malware. This will only get worse with time. The industry of cyber security is overworked and underpaid for their outstandingly valuable work, and they know it. That's why many law-abiding cyber security specialists go into lives of crime. It yields much higher rewards (in terms of money, abandoning consideration of morals) for less exertion.
I do believe that in time, it may be little or a lot, that our consideration of the Internet will be too unsecure and/or too impractical to use. It will be a slow transition, but a sure one. Economic damage will be had, and chaos will rise. However, the eye of the storm will pass, and we will be ok.
After the Internet as we know it is gone, or at least significantly reduced in it's usage, we will face our many struggles, but when they are faced, we will prosper to extents not previously known possible.
A second internet of sorts is likely to rise in place of it, but it will not be the same. It might be based on radio or something similar, as in transmission and reception, but it will not largely include downloadability or any remote access to sensitive/personal data.
This may sound harsh, and it is, but with this comes a much more cooperative global society, as well as local societies and communities. Much struggle will be had, but much more prosperity is in store beyond that.
Our current methods of remote data transmission and reception are certainly wondrous, but not ideal fundamentally. Or at the very least, incomplete.
The future is bright, and it is dark. Both perspectives are true, but that of future being bright is tremendously more true. Pain is finite and limited, pleasure is infinite.
[Disclaimer: this is just a theory: an idea the writer had while on his daily commute. It is based on no explicit statements or evidence, and only broad observations of Internet and it's effects on society. Any of this comparing directly to specific examples or cases is strictly coincidental but encouraged to be applied to such in one's own speculations or thoughtss]

Man and his symbiotes appear to be severely troubled. While it is true that society is in a state of degrade, and that there is much hostility in the environment even in some cases among friends or family, and that nations appear to see a rise in war all while the individual loses money and time, all hope is not lost. In fact, there is only hope to gain. There are changes happening on this planet of which it's data generally isn't available to the public eye. Some forces attempt to make it available while some attempt to hide it.
The forces hiding them are likely to be very long gone before they are identified by the public eye. These hidden changes are good. It will get worse before it gets better, and we will never be the same again. We will be stronger, smarter, and more capable than ever before now imagined.
All this will be handled. For now, what you can do to help is a list of basic things.
1. Survive. Be happy, achieve maximum joys, reduce pains and stimulation while in pain.
2. Help your family in all ways possible unless net damage is done
3. Produce joys for others and prevent pains for others and yourself.
4. Communicate with your fellow man, find things to agree about with him, and hold affinity for him.
5. Make enemies only (if at all necessary) with persons or groups who attack things which are good and help things which are bad and that operate on the basis of the most destruction for the most number of people or groups.
The above should all be calculated only on the basis of maximum creation for the maximum number of people and their symbiotes.
Godspeed.

PSA: planet earth is under tremendous stress. This is known. It's people suffer and so do all symbiotes of the earth and it's people. Insanity floods the streets and is on the rise, but there is hope despite this. Sanity, though sometimes quieter, is much more abundant than insanity.
Despite all turmoil, social turbulence, and destruction, we, the human race, will make it. Everything will be alright. That is fact. Continue in your endeavors for constructive action. They contribute to the potentially infinite survival of infiniteness itself. (which includes mankind and it's symbiotes. That also includes the individual.)
Wether it be a quick bang that started us on this physical universe, or a slow and deliberate planning, one command was certainly given at the beginning. That command being "SURVIVE!". How far we've come on one simple idea. It appears that though not particularly necessary for man to overcome his struggles as he is a quite resilient creature capable of greater things than he knows, he might benefit from hearing that command again.
You the reader, should know that though death is inevitable, as is the end of anything, life is infinite, and anything is not only possible, but inevitable in infinity. Any idea you conjure up is real. Why? Because you said so. Crazy, but it works. This phenomenon has no explanation, it just is.
SURVIVE!
May your wildest dreams come true, and may you overcome your biggest obstacles. My money is on you, reader. I'm tremendously excited to see what you'll accomplish. I'll be glad to help, should you need any.

I had this idea of buying a bunch of kites and inviting some friends out to the beach to fly them during hurricane season when no-one else wants to be outside. Sounds crazy, and it'd probably be annoying to do, but even so, how chaotically fun

I kind of want to buy an old Volkswagen bus or something like it and "modernize" it. (Upgrade brakes, along with some basic safety upgrades, maybe put in a heftier engine, and add some convenience features like a backup camera, better speakers, etc.) I think it would be really cool to just have a regular every day car that looks old and uncommon, maybe "lower class" by today standards, and turns out it's just a regular modern day car on the inside
