Redesign of the Godcleaver Blood Thralls! More uniform and raggedy since they are a pretty big force within their part of the world. Blood freaks who siphon and steal Blood to pump into themselves. Full of prion diseases and bad inbred shelter dog-like attitudes ...

I want to take a minute to show off one of my lesser-played GW2 characters, that I'm proud of. WHY am I proud, you ask? Because Guild Wars 2 is a game of "Oh? You're a human female? Cool--do you want to be Skinny, Skinny With Titties, or Downright Anorexic?" Not only can you not have a plus sized woman--you can't have a woman with proportions remotely resembling realistic. That's why I don't play human female. This is Vickie. I'm proud because, by fiddling with armor skin combinations, I've managed to make her look more realistic. Maybe even chubby... at least by GW2 standards. I'm not a plus-sized person--but I AM a human female. And I lived with an eating disorder for years--underweight and in TERROR of being "too big". One thing that helped me recover was seeing big women in games, media, and art who were also COOL, and TOUGH, and SEXY. So I try to replicate that... even in games like GW2, where the body diversity is complete shit. Speaking of art featuring big, cool women--check out @jijidraws and @thebrightestlodge

So while my "no big art for ANet" stance is still in effect, I elected to make a little bit of a caveat to it, mostly for my own sake, as I was looking to stretch my professional concept art legs a bit.
What do charr need? Manes! When do we need them? Yesterday!
I wanted to stretch my concept legs, I used my ANet Stream time in February to design 4 (+ 4 alts) manes, because I do not want more human hair on giant battlecats.
Each one of these was designed with one of the High Legions in mind. If you want more design background for each of them, you can find it here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/104523403
Also since tumblr has become AI training grounds, I don't really post here anymore, so if you want a stable source of my (not-necessarily-GW) art, pick your poison here: https://linktr.ee/whitewolfburrow

I think for a lot of white people, when you call them out on their casual racism (microagressions and non-overt things), they see it as a case of hurt feelings from your point of view as opposed to a discussion of harmful practices that aid the vehicle of racism. So in response, they take it as a personal attack, rather than a learning experience, and go on the defensive by bringing up a time that you made them upset as leverage. Or they defend their actions by doubling down on the behavior at hand and dismissing your criticism as over sensitivity and emphasizing their “harmless” intent. And I think that is one of the reasons why it’s so hard to address casual and interpersonal racism with the general white population (and also other poc tbh).

Lack of body diversity is also upsetting. A woman can be: Skinny, Skinny with BIG BOOBS, or REALLY Skinny. A man can be: Buff, REALLY BUFF, or Slender.
gw2 character creator ain't bad but the lack of ability to make big curved noses and wavy/curly hair is upsetting

THIS IS PERFECT! The main character of my novel in progress is fat, and while I've come a long way learning to draw her, I still struggle with some poses. It's so hard to find stock of fat bodies. Thanks!
Just a reminder about fatphotoref.com—it exists!! I'll be updating with new photos next week and hopefully more regularly after that. Request access by going to bit.ly/fpraccess 💙🧜♀️ happy mer may!

Art party stuff!
Tried using watercolors and it turned out a bit experimental (and took a while)
Still had a lot of fun though!

Sister Brion, who's been chosen by her convent to protect that dreaded tome, The Book of Beafts. She accepts her lot but still feels the weight of the burden. She could also be having a better day, but that's an indulgence too many ...

terrifying monster: *standing at full height, glaring with narrowed eyes, tongue flicking over his fangs as a thunderous growl fills the air, claws spread wide and basically about to attack*
me: are you flirting with me?

I love when fiction makes the audience feel guilty about their role as the audience. When something fucked up is treated as a joke but later it's recognised how fucked up it was and the audience feels guilty for finding it funny. When a character breaks the fourth wall to plead for help, and you can't do anything so you just watch. And you know that the characters pain isn't real, but they're begging for help and you're not helping because their suffering is entertainment for you
