My apologies to everyone who liked and shared this art yesterday. I wasn’t in a good place and ended up deleting the post. In the end, this simple drawing taught me an important lesson and that’s why I’m posting it again. This time, with an open heart. Much love to you all! :)

Turtle Ducks ^^ Took my time to create a more detailed piece in the last couple of days! I recently rewatched Avatar and really enjoyed all the scenes where Zuko and Iroh were featured! It made me so nostalgic, so I decided to paint this as an homage to these awesome characters! Hope you like it :)

I’m so obsessed with the idea of Avatar Mako (not because I hate women, stfu Korra is still kicking ass, but just water-bending style in this AU) because the idea of an orphaned kid living on the streets, working with gangs, and fighting in underground bending rings while trying to raise his younger brother, not giving a shit about who the Avatar is or where they are, being the Avatar without knowing is so good.

Maybe his parents knew because when he was a kid, they did some little rituals or something to see if he was an earth or fire bender or if he even was one at all. But they never told him (or anyone else) because they were going to wait until he was sixteen, like traditional. So, they just went with fire-bending because of his appearance and because fire is probably more dangerous untrained, and more likely to be done on accident. (I choose to believe fire sneezing is a very real risk)

Anyway, I just.. I love this AU so much.

Although it makes for great fanfics I think it’s kind of humorous that people write Lin as not knowing how to dance. Even though when Suyin and Lin made up she offered Lin a position as an assistant director for Suyin’s upcoming dance show. That leads me to believe that Lin can in fact dance and absolutely knows. She got the hips to prove it after all 😌 ☝🏽

💛: What is a popular ship you just can't get behind, and why?

We all know I'm not a fan of Korra and Asami together so I wanna pick something different. Now popular is relative in LOK since it's really a one-ship fandom but on the spectrum of popularity is Kainora. To me it reads like the sheltered girl/bad boy trope which I don't think makes for a good long-term relationship. Jinora is a nerd. She has a strong sense of home and family and is ready to take up the mantle of the airbenders after her father. And Kai isn't any of these things. He's much more of the "air is freedom" kind of airbender. Also I find Kai obnoxious. Now, Ikki and Kai... talk to me.

That anyone in LOK is Sokka's kid. Now, I fully embrace that Sokka got married and had lots of sex and babies. I love this for him. I just don't think any of the characters we meet are them. Not Senna or Suyin or Baatar Sr. or Varrick. And nothing against people who do have these headcanons, it's just not for me. In general I lean away from everyone in sequels being related trope (I screamed when they made Rey a Palpatine like wtf noooo). Just let your world be big and full of new people.

I have a small, slow growing collection of tarot decks. I've been learning the meanings of the cards and how to do readings from a beginner's guide, and it's a fun hobby for me. My two favorite decks that I have so far are the Modern Witch Tarot Deck and the Goddess Tarot.

When I was younger, I used to bite my nails when I got anxious (which was and is quite often), but I finally got rid of the habit when I started getting manicures regularly. Now my nails are longer than I ever thought they could grow and they remind me that my anxiety doesn't control me.

I cannot write poetry for shit, but I adore the genre, and I'm lucky enough that on two different occasions very talented writers wrote poems that were inspired by me on some level. Both times, I nearly fainted when I heard them read aloud.

I am super against light pollution, and have been for decades

but I am also super annoyed by the way it's framed as "without light pollution you can see how beautiful the night sky is" way more prominently than it's framed as "hey, did you ever stop to think of how much energy/resources/money are literally wasted by having so much light shine up into the sky?"

so people get the idea that light pollution can only be remedied by eliminating all night-time light, which would make being outside at night very inconvenient, instead of by making night-time light shine only on the ground where, y'know, the people who need it are
