Interesting fact about Fanny is that she's apparently suffering from anemia?
Most obviously, she has an Overdrive move literally called "I'm a little anemic.", which has her faint onto a hospital bed and take a nap (while also smacking into her opponent on the way.)
Possibly related to that (?), her hobby is listed as "Napping" in the version of her profile featured in Guilty Gear X Drafting Artworks (on page 152.)
And the winning quotes against her from Jam and GG Millia make mention of her falling asleep and spacing out during battle:
So she's definitely a sleepy girl, but yeah, it might actually be due to anemia, huh.
''There sits Sigurd stained with blood;
Fafnir's heart he roasts in the fire.
I would call the prince wise and prudent
if he himself ate that gleaming heart."
✩ so excited to finally show off my Faust design ^^! based on the future where he regains his job as being a doctor 💚 his past still pains him, but he feels more at peace with himself after strives time line. he moves forward to look after those who need him, and in extension himself ✨✨
Viktor, the Hexcore and the Law of Equivalent Exchange
Viktor's playing with alchemy y'all, let's get nerdy!
So the show shows us two times that Viktor engages with the HexCore. The first time he takes shimmer prior to touching the core and while he is in obvious physical pain he survives the process getting a fancy leg upgrade in the process. Neat right?
The second time Viktor tries to inject himself with shimmer prior to the experiment but the vial is empty. Contemplating his options he decides to continue anyway. Luckily for Viktor, Sky shows up moments after he touches the core and tries to intervene, pulling him away only to die herself.
So why does Viktor survive the first time but Sky is obliterated on the second attempt?
So in Alchemy/Transmutation you have the law of Equivalent Exchange. You can't make something from nothing, you have to give something equal in return.
The first time the Hexcore was taking from Viktor, but the shimmer allowed him to heal as quickly as he was being destroyed. Equivalent exchange was maintained and so he received his mutated leg without any visible side effects. And without realising what he was dealing with...
The second time the same price had to be paid, but on this occasion there was no shimmer to protect Viktor. Instead the cost of his transmuted limb comes in the form of Sky's life. Which allows Viktor to realise the process he is dealing with and the price that it demands to give him what he wants.
In fact that is likely what is happening with the plant when Viktor and Jayce are first experimenting with the core. With nothing to protect it from the core and nothing to sustain the reaction in equivalent exchange the core cannibalises the organic matter after briefly allowing it to flourish. The reason the experiment kept failing was because Jayce and Viktor were trying to get something for nothing.
It doesn't explain what the HexCore is but it does make it clear that it's use will come at a cost, and one that is likely bound by the laws of Equivalent Exchange.
So folks may want to think twice before asking something of it...
