in love with a ghost is a french solo artist that does electronic, downtempo, kind of lo-fi music. They create music with sounds they’ve found in real life. They started releasing their music in 2013, and has released several singles, three EPs, and an album. They release their music on soundcloud, youtube, and bandcamp.
The album is about healing. It tells a story of a meeting, a witch, magic, friendship, and self-discovery.

Assignment 12a&b
1. Cass Gordon
2. The Hunt
3. There is a small child hunter trying to follow wolf tracks but the wolf is actually hunting her. This is located in the woods, on a cloudy day, or night. This is during winter. There’s also bunny tracks and a dead bunny. The wolf is behind the person, the person is behind the bunny, and the person and the bunny are next to each other
4. It should be slightly unclear whether the child is hunting the wolf or the rabbit. It’s a piece saying you don’t know who’s watching who. The woods are a place where you don’t have clear eyesight, and when walking through it it seems like things are watching you at times.
5. The painting is atmospheric with the light source coming from almost directly atop the trees. IT’ll be mostly dark in the painting to show mystery with the spurts of light coming from above to highlight some parts that might otherwise be hidden. There will be some reflective light from the red.
6. Red-orange, dingy yellow, green, dark blue, dark purple, white, black(?) I’ll mostly be focusing on an analogous color palette, focusing on dark colors such as blue, and purple, with hints of other colors throughout the piece. Almost black colors are chosen because the primary part of this piece is the mystery.

Assignment 08b Blending Sphere:
In this assignment we had to replicate the core elements of a jpeg of a ball. I learned the different aspects of how light interacts with a ball, and how shadows change color because of it. I’ll be able to use this knowledge in order to create shadows of my own when creating my work. I enjoyed being able to use different textured brushes in order to complete this assignment.

Assignment 8a:
This assignment brought us into the world of blending. This taught me how to use opacity over and over again to blend. I had never thought of blending in specific directions until this assignment, and now I will be able to put this knowledge to future pieces to make pieces look more flowy and natural.

07 Assigned Still Life:
In this project we were given a paper that we had to draw. I had a hard time using the blur tool, as it was not as strong as I would have liked it to be. Instead, I learned to follow colors closely to create the illusion of blurriness, and use the opacity tool in layers to give the effect.
I will bring what I learned into newer pieces, to be able to rely on other means to make something look blurrier.

05c Brush Control Gif Assignment:
In this assignment, we were able to learn how to use the timeline tool in photoshop. We took screenshots in certain increments of time to be able to achieve this. I will be able to use it in the future to view my processes, and plan out roughs for plots/animations.

Assignment 06: Still Life
In this assignment, we were to create a still life of an object that was greater than 3 inches in two dimensions. We were only allowed to use certain brushes in order to create these. My hardest time was trying to figure out how to make a blurrier bigger are for a shine effect, and the spacing in between the different shades of my drawing. Time management was a big deal for me in this as well. I used a background to hide the spaces between the colors, and used a soft brush to create a blurrier/shiny effect. I have learned how to be able to create something with minimal tools, and now I know to start everything off with a base, rather than focus on one area at a time.

Assignment 05b:
In this assignment, we were to create either a hand or our face, starting with the basic shapes. At each layer we were to build upon the shapes, and add more details. I learned to look at the basic shapes, and not to be afraid to go backand edit the shapes we began with.
I’ll be able to use these things I learned in future to not be afraid to look back and change things that seemed right at first. That way the future improvements can be done better. Looking at things in basic shapes also helps the composition.
