Interview With Jamison Green. Originally posted on Youtube, by Dr. Lindsey Doe.
TRANSCRIPT: [Jamison Green sitting on a couch, being interviewed by Dr. Doe. He is wearing a suit shirt and a black jacket, and has a grey beard.] JAMISON: When I first transitioned, I thought I was going to go get a sex change, then go home and mow my lawn. I did not ever imagine that my life would change at all, because already people- at least half the time, sometimes more- thought I was male. And so, I figured nothing was going to change, I would just feel more comfortable in my body. I realised that there were all these other people out there who were living in fear and shame, because of their differences. And I thought, that is not right. And so I said to them, I’m going to start using my full name in public, and I’m going to start talking about who we are. Don’t be afraid to change in all kinds of ways. Your self can change. [Jamison and the interviewer high-five.] INTERVIEWER: I’m impressed by what you’ve done. JAMISON: Thank you. END TRANSCRIPT.
Jamison Green was born in 1948. He came out as a trans man the late 1980s and made his transition public, for the benefit of others. He has been an activist since then, and led the FTM community after Lou Sullivan's death.
His contributions to trans rights have been largely erased by mainstream narratives around trans history.
Mr. Green wrote the book Becoming a Visible Man, exploring his experiences as a bisexual trans guy, his relationships with lovers and family, and his struggle to transition. He was involved in the 2012 documentary TRANS, where he advocated on behalf of trans people, and discussed his experiences with being s*xually assaulted.

I was digging through my drafts and found this formerly unreleased picture of Q back when he was still full gremlin mode. Just a complete and utter 'oh shit I shouldn't have fed him after midnight' beast.
He was 1.9 pounds in this picture and being syringe fed, but really wasn't eating much. Most of it just got on the rest of him at the time. Which really didn't add to the whole thing about him. I forget how he got up to the little ledge there. I think he had been trying to dig out the wand toys that are kept in there.

Hands down one of the most gorgeous cats I've ever seen. She's a Russian blue and a bit over a year old.

What made Boston terriers and bull terriers escape the negative connotations of their bull and terrier lineage? I don't see anyone being deranged over bull terriers and especially not Bostons, does it all come down to the class and race of those who fancied them?
im not sure about bostons, but english bull terriers were marketed to upperclass englishmen from the very beginning who went out of their way to distinguish them from the "ugly, aggressive, stupid fighting dogs" that were common among the working class. you can see this in a lot of early writings about the breed
Tumblr media
for example, this excerpt from a book written in 1903
notice how the hypothetical working type bull terrier is brindle. for some reason, early EBT breeders were convinced that brindle bull terriers were less refined and closer to their pit fighting brethren than solid white bull terriers, which is why there was such a concentrated effort to produce only solid white dogs. i also suspect this is why the head shape changed so dramatically.
I've jokingly referred to bull terriers as gentrified pit bulls but honestly the truth isn't far off lmao. James hinks (who spent most of his life in birmingham, he undoubtedly knew what he was doing) was just a very good salesman and was able to convince a bunch of rich people that his strain of bull terriers was totally different from what the peasants had (in reality he was still fighting his dogs as well as showing them)
