You woke up that morning in pain, a common occurrence when you were are you period. “Fuck” you whisper as you wake up, dreading the fact that you started. You felt something wet under you and looked down. You froze as you saw a small patch of red on the bed sheets.You looked over at your sleeping boyfriend, relieved he hadn’t woken up yet. You quickly rushed out of bed and to his dresser, where you had some extra clothes. After grabbing a new pair of underwear, one of his t-shirts and your bag, which had pads in it just in case, you quickly made your way to the bathroom.
After getting changed and situating yourself, you sat on the bathroom floor, with your head in your hands as you cried. You dreaded what would happen when matty woke up and discovered you had stained his sheets.
Bad memories of your ex flooded your mind as you sat there. Last time this happened, you were with your ex, and when he woke up and saw the stain he screamed at you. You remember how he slapped you then had you throw away the sheets, claiming that they were now “Unclean”. Though your relationship with Matty had been nothing like your past one, you were still nervous that this would cause the same outburst.
“Y/n are you in there” you heard his voice ask as he knocked on the door. “Ye-yeah i’m here” you stutter out, cursing the way your voice broke when you said it. “Baby what's wrong?” he asks, “Nothing I’m fine i promise” you respond, as tears still pour down your face. “Can I come in?” he asks, as he places his hand on the door handle, “Um, sure” you say, as you wipe your tears away quickly.
Matty opens the door slowly, his face falls when he sees you curled up in the corner. He rushes up to you and kneels down to face you, “Baby what's wrong?” he asks, as he cups your cheek in his hand. “I-i’m sorry please don't be mad” you whimper. “Why would I be mad? Why are you apologizing?” he asks, confused on what you were talking about. You finally looked up at him, “I started my period and bleed onto the sheets, I’m so sorry, i’ll buy you new ones if you want” you sob. Matty frowns and immediately pulls you into his arms, “Baby why would i ever be mad? Sheets can be washed, it's ok” he says as he rocks you back and forth, trying to soothe you.
“Wait really?” you ask as you pull away from his chest to look up at him. “Really baby, i’m more worried if you’re ok or not and also worried about why you would think i would be mad?” he asks, as he holds you face in his hands, gently wiping your tears away. “My ex yelled and slapped me when I bled onto his sheets by accident” you whisper, “Wow what an asshole, I’m sorry baby, know I’m not mad and will never be mad about this” he says.
You felt a huge weight being lifted off your shoulders as he said that.
“How about this, I’ll go get Mayhem from his crate and bring him to you so he can keep you company while I go change the sheets” Matty offers. You nod your head in response, “Perfect, I’ll be right back” he says, leaning forward to place a quick kiss on your lips before standing up and leaving the bathroom.
After a few minutes, matty came back into the bathroom with the small fur ball tucked in his arms. “Someone’s here to cheer you up” Matty said, you giggled and reached your arms out for the dog. Matty gently placed the puppy in your arms. Mayhem immediately climbed up you and placed kisses all over your face, instantly making you feel even better. “Are you ok to be here with him while I change the sheets?” Matty asks, you nod your head in response, while you gently pet mayhem. “Perfect i’ll be quick I promise” he said and with that Matty left the bathroom again and went to go change the sheets. You looked down at the energetic puppy, that had now calmed down and curled up in your lap, “Your daddy is the best” you whispered to the dog, before going back to scratching his ears.
Not even five minutes later you see Matty come back, his presence catches mayhem's attention and the puppy quickly jumps off your lap and runs over to his owner. “How are my two babies doing?” he asks, “Mentally better, physically not so good” you say, wincing as you slowly pull yourself off of the floor. Matty quickly rushes over to you, “Let's get you to bed” matty says, as he ushers you out of the bathroom and back into the bedroom.
Matty helps you lay down in the bed, gently tucking you in under the sheets. “Almost forgot him” matty chuckles, as he picks up the whining puppy from his feet and places him in your lap. “You both are seriously the best Matty” you say, as you look up at your boyfriend. “We gotta take care of our girl, isn't that right mayhem?” he asks the puppy, as he gently sits next to you on the bed and scratches the puppies ears. Almost as he understands what's going on, Mayhem lets out a bark in response. “See he agrees,” Matty says, chuckling at the small dog's antics.
“Matty” you say as you gently take his hand in yours, “Thank you for everything” you say, almost tearing. “No need to thank me baby, I love you and would do anything for you” he says, “I love you too matty” you respond back, before pulling him closer to you and kissing him.
Mayhem paws at your chest, causing you two to break apart, “Oh how could I forget you” you say, gently picking the puppy up and placing many kisses on his head. “Hey stop stealing my girl Mr.” Matty scolds the puppy, “don’t worry you’ll always be my favorite healy” you reassure your boyfriend as you lean up one more time to kiss him. He pulls away with a wide smile on his face, “Take that” he says, as he looks down at the puppy in your arms, “Hey he’s just a baby, healy no fighting” you joke, as you pull mayhem closer to you. “You two are adorable” he says, before getting up from the bed, “Is it ok if I run to the store really quick, so I could pick up some stuff for you” he asks. Your heart swells at his offer, “Of course, we’ll be waiting very patiently for you to be back so don’t be long” you say. Matty chuckles and gives both you and Mayhem a kiss on the head before leaving.
