I've started The Witch and the Beast. Only one episode in, but so far, so good! I especially love the visuals.

I wasn't expecting to enjoy Gakuen Alice as much as I did. Like there's anime I'm really excited about going in, and others where I'm just like "Eh, I'll give it a chance and see where it goes." Gakuen Alice was the latter and it exceeded my expectations. I was so invested I watched all of it in a single day. I laughed. I cried. This anime is so great.

Kaname knows making stuffed animals with souls is slowly killing him. He keeps doing it anyway because it's what gives his limited life joy and meaning. Tsubasa doesn't want to lose him but he respects that anyway. I cried watching this episode.

I can understand why people would be uncomfortable with Narumi but he is such an interesting character to me. Someone who cares about his students but is nonetheless complicit in the harm being done to them. He foils Natsume's escape attempts knowing what will happen as a result. He also brings Mikan that letter from her grandfather knowing what the consequences will be. He asks Mikan to trust him when he knows he doesn't deserve it. He loves the idea of Alice Academy but hates what it's doing.
